"impressive stich detailing" vs. shoddy & handmade

I have a suit that has "impressive stich detailing"
Were the seller referring to the "hand stitched" look?
(around the zipper/fly, and on the edges of the suit....)

It has this spaced apart, almost handmade stitch pattern,
as compared to a tigher, "machine stitched" look that mass produced clothes have...

Frankly, this "crooked/spaced/manual" stitch look seems sloppy and cheap
compared to the razor straight consistency (the density) of a assembly line machine stitch ..

The old school look is the desirable one ?

If I understand his question correctly, he is puzzled over what signals hand stitching as opposed to sloppy stitching.

The whole concept is that many here prefer hand work, which is more expensive and time consuming, over machine work. There are many traditional and status reasons associated with it, just see it as a sign of distinction and leave it at that.

I have to say I care very little for it myself aside from a few exceptions (hand made buttonholes really do look better).

Better yet, why don't you explain to him how the search function works and demonstrate by searching pick stitching and posting a few links?

I also bet he didn't know what pick stitching is, so how is he supposed to search for it?
