WTF? does this mean?

Does this mean I will never get my items? I ordered some Nudie stuff from Sweden and got a tracking number. It has been a while, so I tracked the package, and the current state is "impounded by customs." So nervous, since this is big money for someone making almost min. wage.

Someone sooth my soul or tell me that I'm fucked and that I will never see those Nudie Conny jackets.

Just one, thank god; I don't know why I put the S at the end. I'm just miserable as **** over it. It is two weeks pay for me. So there is no way I can get my jacket, and why is this done?

If it's just one then you might still get it. I bet there was missing paperwork or something wasn't filled out correctly.

I've order so much **** from abroad: Poland, Italy, Russia, England, etc, etc. I've never had to deal with this.

Is there any 'thing' I should contact? Would I contact USPS?

That sucks. The most obvious question is, did they declare the full value, or try to B/S customs by saying it's a $25 jacket? I'm not sure what to do, but start making some calls, the shipping company owes you an explanation.

I heard of one ebay seller who declared NIB Prada and Gucci shoes at $0... and he wondered why his stuff never reached it's destination.

$135 jacket. I've never had to pay customs before either in all my overseas shopping. Usually they are just marked "gift."

Hmmm.... was it purchased from an individual seller or a company? It's suspicious to customs when you get a "gift" from an incorporated company with an invoice in the box.

A reputable retailer that does a sizable amount of worldwide shipping. I do not know if it was shipped as a 'gift'

I just hope this doesn't happen to the rest of my clothes coming from abroad as I have four parcels coming from the UK.

For your sake I hope not. Even if the guy did declare it wrong to duck the import duties, in all fairness the government shouldn't be able to keep the package. Perhaps they're just holding it temporarily until they decide what it's really worth and slap a penalty on it. Good luck dealing with the postal service... I have a feeling you're going to need it.

There's no free trade between the EU and America, you have to pay any and all applicable import duties. Goods made in Canada and Mexico are duty free under NAFTA. Sales taxes in your locale still apply no matter what. If there's unlimited free trade with no applicable taxes or duties, why do you think every seller declares what they sell you a $20 gift? If there's no consequences, why not just call it $250 of merchandise?

I'm in America; that statement was sarcasm, sorry that you misunderstood me.
