Important proxy feedback needed

Hi, I have been given the opportunity to proxy items and i have been offered near ten percent.
The items are around 1000-2500 dollars. (100 to 250) per item.
I would really like feedback, because this would be fairly profitable.
However it could also be a scam, he wants to pay via paypal/google checkout/wire transfer.
I am not sure about liability when dealing with pieces of this value.
Do you think it sounds like a scam, or is it fully safe?

The only country I am aware of where all transactions are 100% safe and secure is Nigeria. They have a sophisticated banking system that strongly discourages fraud and offers restitution to victims. So if he's Nigerian, I say fire away.

So you'd be talking about Joe, from Canada, then?

I would not trust him.

Kidding, why not just have him pay you first? He needs the favour from you, not vice-versa.

prudent advice. If you are ever required to front money for someone you don't know, you might as well kiss your cash good bye. hell, i'd be hesitant to get in this sort of arrangement with somebody I did know.

Why were you approached as the proxy?

Wow, you need help. You're asking a bunch of strangers on the internet if it is 'fully safe' for you to enter into a transaction with another stranger where you fork out $1,000 to $2,500 because it in the end it really will be 'fairly profitable' for you.

You're a little scanty on the details. Let me get this straight:

1. He pays you a percentage of the goods' value in advance.
2. He pays you the forwarding postage cost in advance
3. He pays for the goods, and they are delivered to you
4. You post them to him, and keep the hard-earned money ...

... and you haven't yet asked yourself "doesn't this sound a little too good and easy to be true?"
