I know the guy that is head of their tailoring service and I know for a fact that the 1818 line is NOT fused. Maybe their outlet stores or their "Brooks Cool" line however, the 1818 line is most certainly not!

Does the "guy" say it is half-canvassed? Because we've basically established half-canvassing involves fusible. He might just be playing cute with terminology.

I offer the following visual evidence of the construction of a BB 1818 odd jacket (made in Italy):

The white is the fusible and it runs the entire front of the jacket. The grayish piece I'm pulling back is the canvas, which is just stitched in place.

It means it is half canvas.

Does NOT not look like one of their 1818 "suits" which I did say are not fused. Furthermore, it is one of their "old" sport coat and from the looks of it light weight summer sport coat at that. Which is called "unstructured" as such is often desired for a summer or light weight sport coat. If they were to put a full canvas in a suit for summer would it not be a little hot depending on the weight of the wool?

My statement are true in regards to their 1818 suits that are made in the US which is what their have mostly in their off the rack suits as of 2013 to now.

Additionally, it would be their retail NOT their outlet/factory stores or Brooks Cool suits.

Only one way to settle it: He needs to volunteer for dissection one of his one 1818's (that satisfies all the requirements he lists).

Buddy, if you do the pinch test on 1818 suits, you'll see they're half canvassed. The sales rep didn't know what he was saying.

It is really not about what I believe but rather, what is fact and what is opinion. My information is coming from the actual source and what I own myself. Furthermore, my SA from the store I used to shopped ( and where I become acquainted with the head of the tailoring department) has been working with BB for 33 yrs and their tailor has been there for almost the same amount of time.

Additionally, they do have a deconstructed version of the 1818 and Golden Fleece model suits in my their MTM department.

Again, BB current suits of the 1818 model are half canvas that is stitched with horse hair and not fused and their GF suits are full canvas and use horse hair as well.

I am just trying to clear up the misinformation that can put forth online so many times

BB aside, do you agree or disagree with the statement that, generally speaking, a half-canvas suit contains fusing?

Let's see some pics. If it's true, I'd be interested in seeing half-canvas with zero fusible.
