I'm sick of converse

Honestly, I can't look anywhere without seeing people wearing converses.

If it's a casual outfit, there's a 90% chance the shoes will be converse low tops

Isn't anyone else sick of seeing people wear these? It's generic and uninspiring. The word must get out, you have other options for footwear...please engage in that fundamental right.

I love them but you're right, I need a break because I see a thousand pairs a day. They're a safe go-to shoe for the fashionably inept which is why they're so popular. I'm personally sick of seeing vans everywhere. I have yet to meet someone who shares my style in shoes. I'm going to wait until the trendies move on to something else before I wear one of my 5 pairs.

I'm not saying I'm a fashion guru because I don't wear converses...all I wear is bascially nike, adidas (sambas) or puma.

What are some other footwear suggestions as alternatives to converse low tops?

I find that people who wear converse are either those fashion-inept ones you speak of, scenesters/hipsters, or those who are stylish enough to pull off $30 shoes naturally (like a number of the members of this forum here) and make it look better than the trendy-brands people who buy $300 rock&republic jeans to wear with $200 Shox to night clubs.

I think the reward is that you can make your chucks look cooler than everyone else's chucks just by the outfit around it.

they're ubiquitous because they're slim, classically styled, cheap, and come in a zillion colours. What other shoes fit that description?

Though I know they were pretty widely available, I'm the only person I've ever seen with gold metallic Chucks. I think that keeps them from looking tired for me.

I'm not tired of the look, I just don't like Converse. They feel cheap, they look cheap, no matter what you wear with them.

I've hated Converse since the first day I saw them. Nothing will change that.

I like Converse, and they share my rotation with Vans (slip ons and Sk8-His), Adidas of various sorts (Italias, Allrounds, Samoas), old Puma Miharas, Springcourts, Tiger 66s, wierd sneakers from some obscure Italian brands, and whatever else takes my fancy.

What I like about Converse is the ease everyone (from hipsters with tight jeans to older dudes mowing the lawn in chinos) wears them with. And for me, ease is necessary for stylish. Everyone wears them because everyone knows that they look good no matter your age, station, or tribe. Oh, and they are cheap.

i have 1 pair of white chucks. I dont wear them that often but when i do its just with some jeans and a hanes t shirt. Thats when i feel like rocking it james dean style.

I dont like how those hipsters wear them, 4 inch cuff on their jeans, ugly t shirt, 5 bracelets on each arm, hitler haircut, emo glasses. wtf...

I kinda sorta agree. My wife has been wearing them regularly since before I met her, 8 years ago, she looks great and shouldn't stop because of the trend. I've been wearing Vans since I graduated from my velcro Zips in 2nd grade so there is no way in hell I'm gonna stop wearing them because they're extra popular right now. They'll die down in a bit and who knows, maybe Creepers will be back in
