Hi all,
I am new to the forum and have been searching/reading/drooling/gawking/wishing for about a week now. Thanks for that.
I have a few questions I'd like you to help me with.
First, my "build":
I'm about 6'0", 225 pounds (mostly in the chest and thighs from prior weighlifting times), wear a 36-37/30 pant, and 46R jacket (US sizes). I wear a 17/34 shirt, but may need a 17/33 (these are rarely available).
I am looking for a few items to update my clothing style/collection. I work in a business casual setting, and will stay in this type of dress-style for the foreseeable future. On weekends I like to drink scotch.
I am looking for:
A thin peacoat - I have a nice, big, thick Schott that I bought at an Army oversupply store before I knew any better - it is unwieldy but very warm. It's a lot of material and makes me feel like a robot. I need something thin but warm, for under $200. Ideas?
Dress shirts - I have a decent amount of regular barrel-cuffed dress shirts from the likes of Tasso Elba, Hugo Boss, Liz Claiborne, etc. Mostly Macy's and Nordstrom stuff at around $30-40/shirt. I am looking for something a bit better. I have read that TM Lewin stuff is of pretty good quality, but I am wondering about the fit. Should I get the slim-fit or regular-fit? (I'm not slim, but my shoulders are quite a bit wider than my waist/hips) My concern is a 17/33 not fitting around my waist in a slim-fit.
Thank you.
