IKEA rug (and this spring's low-cost Loake shoe damage)

This spring's low-cost shoe damage, shot with a low-cost digital camera on a low-cost IKEA rug

The shoes are taken directly from my rotation and I haven't done any extra polishing before the photos so there are a few scuffs around
smile.gif
(particularly on the monkstraps as I last used them when playing with the kids outside). Also, I was a bit unsure of the lighting conditions and the use of the camera's flash but decided to go without the flash.

Anyway, from left to right:
Loake Trent (Dainite rubber sole), chestnut, seconds purchased from Herring Shoes for 50 GBP.
Loake Wells, black, purchased at a 70% off sale at a local Stockholm shoe shop (their last pair, and it was my size!).

From left to right:
Loake Wells, chestnut, seconds from Herring Shoes for 75 GBP.
Loake Exeter, dark brown, purchased from Pediwear at a slight discount

Not as impressive or nice as most of the other shoe damage threads here, but hopefully not that bad for a beginner on a budget

And yeah, I'll be ordering new shoe trees, probably those Bexley trees, when that budget allows for more shoe-related purchases again...

What a nice job covering all the bases with four pairs.

I'm going to do my mid-range post soon too.

Very nicely done! Very smart purchases, that's this forum all about. Very good pictures too. I should learn how to take photo without flash. I am so glad the floodgate has been opened and everybody are posting their shoe damage reports.

Andrew, you are really a trend setter and an influential poster with your shoe damage reports.

I also applaud your collection. Now that the foundation has been set, the real fun begins.

I really like the Wells. Provided it's comfortable, that's a hell of a deal at 75 quid.

Wow, I hadn't expected this overwhelming reaction

You have no idea how proud I am right now

I really have this forum to thank for everything with regards to shoes!

The only problem is that I now spend way too much time thinking about shoes and planning my next shoe purchases
lookaround.gif
And from what I gather this kind of behaviour seems to go fram bad to worse around here

Here are a few more shots of the Exeter better showing its last (unfortunately taken with the flash, as the sun has gone down here):

I am really happy with the Wells. They are seconds, but the flaw is really minor. I've drawn an arrow pointing it out here:

You call that a flaw? Pah! It is invisible

I think I may have to look for a pair of Exeter at some point.

P.s.
You are doomed. See, you really should have stuck with Kenneth Coles

Now that you have better shoes, your shoelust will only worsen

Don't ask me how I know that, btw. Suffice to say that my Visa has screamed for mercy ever since I joined SF. Repeatedly.

That "flaw" could easily have happened in normal wear the day you bought them. Totally negligible.

Precisely!

But there is also one nice thing with that flaw: since I know it is there, I basically see it everytime I look down at my shoes (and I do that alot when wearing those shoes, I really do like them
wink.gif
) - which reminds me of what a great deal I got
