I'd own a karaoke bar in Tokyo. "Gaijin-sing". Or "Amerikaraoke".

Toronto, not because it's my favorite city in the world, but because it's fairly easy and is a good place to advance a career. As I've said elsewhere, I want to end up in South America. Don't know why, I'm just kind of drawn there.

funny I actually "Started over" in Montreal from Vancouver. However my french is not good, and its damn cold, those have been my main struggles so far. Otherwise I agree, lots of great things.

Obviously, I'm not talking about the women.

It's interesting that people interested in classic style and the aesthetic side of life in general would even consider living in East Asia. There is not a single major city in East Asia that comes anywhere near matching the beauty of any random city in Europe.

Despite the harbor and peak, HK is polluted and filled with ugly highrises. Are there any other remotely attractive cities in Asia? A few blocks in the center of Beijing and Shanghai.

While Europe definitely has charm and beauiful classical architecture- there is something I find very appealing in "ugly" cities like Tokyo. Where people see architectural discord and the evils of overcrowding - I see the ultimate result of function dictating form and the brutal chaos of population density, the brilliance of urban planning, and modern convenience at hand that very few if any cities in Europe can match. I'm not saying that Rome or Paris wouldn't be very beautiful to live in - but they are a different type of beauty.

There are many kinds of beauty. Being able to clear 3000 people off a train and let 3000 more people on, and repeating this every sixty to ninety seconds for two hours every morning is a beautiful thing. You'll just have to take my word for it.

I love Copenhagen and would definitely live there. Coming from Canada however, I have to go with Miami for the weather.

I would do toronto. Dont ask why, but I have been a canadaphile since I was a little kid. Maybee living so close to windsor all the time. There was a point where I knew more about canadian politics than US ones. Plus its reasonably close to my family and friends. I also think I would do London if I was really willing to make a 180* change in my life and try living in europe.
