1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I think they start out with the Gucci bit loafer and age into the tassel.

I have never seen that many tassel loafers in London but I'm not working in the banking industry myself...

I sometimes take the commuter trains and I didn't spot any...

A lot of terrible black cheap shoes only...

They used to be in the eighties the apanage of the well-to-do youngsters in Paris in reaction to the socialist government...

They are too casual for a suit but as everything else if you can pull it off..

Dear Bell - These are ones I wear and others such as Aristocrat from J&M, etc.. (I also wear oxfords, captoes, etc) [IMG]

**Note - been wearing loafers as a part of the 'collection' since I was 17 and could afford to buy my own clothes.

Someone's a little sensitive. Here, the tasseled loafer is the shoe of choice for PI and defense attorneys. Thus, I'll amend it to read: "Plaintiff's or Criminal Defense attorneys' uniform. Often, these two are the same person."

I do not wear them...and have observed in court, only old Judges and lawyers in retirement age wear them.

But then again, rarely are criminals seen wearing tassel loafers[IMG]

31, traditional Alden tassels. The more I wear them, the more I like 'em. Although as I get older, I imagine that they'll seem less quirky and more stuffy.

I'm 30, and last year I took my first dip into the world of tassel loafers with a pair of burgundy (sadly, not cordovan) AE tassel loafers. They're just ok; not my favorite shoes, not my least favorite.

    Ah.
See, I read that as "If you wear TL, how old are you?"
And I now realize that it meant, "How old do you have to be before you can safely wear TL without incurring the wrath of sartorial gentlemen".

    I get it.

I had a pair when I was in my thirties ...

I'm now nearly 41 and you will never see me now wearing tassel loafers...

I think the no-socks in this context is ridiculous, but overall it shows that tall thin people can pull off tassel loafers

I have to politely disagree. I just don't see that at all when reviewing that picture. That guy is not pulling them off at all. Tassels, IMHO and I don't mean to come across as rude, appear dainty to me. And men's shoes should not be dainty. I would argue that square toe shoes are better than tassels. I'm waiting to hear the reaction on this one... [IMG]

I wore them when I was 16. I wear different tassels now, at 62, both pair suede.

I think they'd be better without the tassels.
