Manton, I have to say I'm surprised at your approval of the Chukkas with suits and loafers making your list.

Ed was not a shock. I've have gravitated towards Sartoria Moreli's uniform for a while.

Are you saying it was actually ed who advised me to wear punch caps with black tie?

    ^^

Of course not. Only some rube who did not know the rules and traditions if classic dressing would tell you that.

My replacement suggestions would be brown PTBs or brown chelseas.

I put loafers in the "tailored casual" style that is becoming more costume-y by the year, at least for those born after the early 1970s. If you work in any sort of office, you can continue to wear tailored clothes and they won't look like a costume. But for for most under-40-year-olds, tailored clothing in informal contexts is disappearing at a rapid pace.

Therefore, the items on the list that I most disagree with would be the loafers and the non-blue tweed (although I would really love to live a tweed-filled life).

I don't own very many of the aforementioned, so this list makes me sad all day.

It's okay. I prefer a more pronounced vein pattern. Still, I'd f*ck it.

Wait, what are we talking about?

Re: loafers: I bought my pair because they made me feel like an Italian playboy. Then I remembered I'm not an Italian playboy. Never wear 'em. Though the Trad in me thinks I ought to own some Weejuns.

Chelseas are the ultimate one shoe. From denim and khakis to black tie. If I didn't like chukkas and bucks so much, I might wear nothing else.
