It's a pocket square not a suit - if you like them buy them both. If they are too expensive, shop elsewhere. If all of this is an issue and it's your first one, buy the white.

If you don't own any pocket squares, white is always a good starting point. I only wear white with suits, though, and if you want something for a casual jacket, printed linen or any of the silks might be better.

I disagree. I think white is often a better square for night. Going to the opera or ballet or whatever I usually use white linen. A little more sleek.

I would get the one with the color. I have one that looks like it. I got it from HY and love it. The color is subtle and not over the top.
