So I have to revisit this thread. My firm has gotten ridiculous about having the ID visible at all times. I have fought tooth and nail and made myself a real PITA about it. They have quadrupled down on the ID thing so much so that it can affect your bottom line. Can't have it in a pocket, can't have it covered by a jacket. Has anybody found the least most invasive/most stylish way to comply?
Get a cool short wallet chain and wear it on that. I personally sorta want this:

If you really don't want to just use a lanyard, i have four ideas for you, some serious:

1. Just use a rubber band to secure it over your jacket cuff, Gianni Agnelli-style.
2. Get plastic ID windows integrated into your jacket, maybe at the cuff, explorer/Undercover-style.
3. Have your breast pockets shortened and stick your ID in there with 1/2" showing, general Igent style.
4. Poke a hole in it and clip it to your lapel buttonhole, under the lapel, with part of it peeking out. Swivel it all the way out when needed. Not sure what style. Armoury? Something new?

THere is no “stylish” way to wear an Id/lanyard. You will only have it on when at work. No one will really care or say that you are more/less “stylish” when wearing It.

Usually you can also clip to you breast pocket.

and yes I hate those things too and agree they are farcical things thought up by imbeciles.

I think the clipping to the breast pocket makes the most sense. I am going to need to have some sort of retractable one because I have to scan in and out of VIP rooms throughout the day.

It is funny, they make us show them and use them for "security" reasons, however since they have to be on a lanyard and plastic cover the amount of people who forget them at home, or they break and end up lost has shot up. If everybody can just carry them in whatever card holder they use there won't be a problem.

At my company we can use lanyard skiholders
A59_white-gallery.webp

they automaticcly roll back, and you can attach them at your belt or something. No need to wear lanyards or other warm clothing in your neck :)
