So far I have the following:

1. Black cap toe bal (EG)
2. Dark brown full brogue bal (C&J)
3. Brown suede full brogue bal (Church's Chetwynd)
4. Chestnut full brogue bal (Barker Black, in transit)
5. Light Chestnut semi brogue bal (Grenson, in transit)
6. Dark Chestnut semi brogue bal (RLPL Stanton)
7. Dark chestnut wholecut U-throat (Mercanti Fiorentini)
8. Light chestnut penny loafer (Magnanni)
9. Espresso brown chukka (Cheaney)

I've resolved to have only one shoe per maker. I would like to have an Alfred Sargent & thinking of a Jodphur. What do you recommend? .

this whole 1 maker thing is hilarious but...

shell or calf chukka by Rider or Martegani?

did you say you don't want Aldens again?

The one shoe per maker is certainly a unique approach and it definitely limits the possibilities...

By my count you have 8, so I think your question is for numbers 9 and 10 correct? It looks like you have full brogues and semi brogues covered.

I was going to suggest an icon shoe. Certainly for me, there were certain iconic shoes that I aimed for, these being, the RLPL/EG Grant and Lobb Chapel. Certainly the 'icon' in question is highly personal and subjective.

Since you seem to lacking a monkstrap, might I suggest the Lobb Chapel, Vale or William.

for number 10, I would keep your around the world theme going and order a pair of Vass. I would think a pair of Vass Londoners on the U last would be nice.

No monks or Chelsea boots, maybe a jodhpur. 1 per maker. Sargent is weighing in heavy as I liked the Southwolds I recently sold.

i admire you for sticking to your wife's 10 at one time limit, but you seem to flip shoes more often than people on timezone do watches. i think it might be beneficial to take a step back and really decide what your perfect 10 pairs are.

by the way, i totally admire the enron accounting tactics in your sig.

For the record, I meant pairs 9 & 10 (and possibly 8 if I sell the suede Magnannis). Also, I just showed my wife the last post & she did not impose the limit, I did, as SF makes me spend more than warranted.

Thinking about the AS Bloomsbury & the CT Bordeaux Jodhpur.

my wife set a limit, but sadly it was exceeded. i have to applaud you on the discipline.

i don't own any jodhpurs so I don't really know what's available in that arena. it sounds like you have a pretty good idea what you are after.

best of luck on the hunt for 9 and 10.

I dunno if CT should make the cut of only 10 shoe brands. You should have some Grenson MPs, Aldens, Rider, Martegani, before CT.

Agreed^ except Alden seems to think that light colored shoes look good with black sole edges, the one pair of Marteganis I bought went back post-haste, the Grenson niche has been filled (pending arrival) by the Wembleys & as much as I like Rider I'm just not too sure.

BigBris--why not get one pair of bespoke shoes...made just for you. Just one pair!! That way, 10% of your shoe wardrobe will be bespoke.

Looks like a good base of classic shoes. Maybe a couple pair of more simple patterns are next?
