Lots of discussion already on MC, so I figured it would be good to set up a formal thread here.

Any predictions? I think the Aussies are underrated currently and the Brits too suited for the 5-day game. Can't really see Cook or Strauss turn it on in the abbreviated version of the game.

I have to imagine that India, SA and Aus are favorites going in. Maybe even SL. All in, a very evenly matched WC.

Players to watch: Steyn, Kallis, Trott, Swann, Clarke, Sehwag, Pathan, Ponting (maybe, maybe...), Gayle etc. Oh, and this fellow:

Not SA? Kallis, Smith, de Villiers, Amla, Steyn, Morkel etc. - pretty formidable imo.

Ah yes forgot about them. Amla can score a century in every match!

Yes they will probably make it to the semis but no more. They would've had a great chance of winning if Asif and Amir hadn't been banned for their stupid, irresponsible actions.

Its a pity, I agree. BUT on any given day Razzak or Afridi can win a match alone!!

The Pakistan - India matches will generate the most interest by far, so hope they both stay in the running. Regards.

Im hoping we can spot fix our way to the title

I wouldn't call Asif and Amirs actions irresponsible, but downright criminal....people need to see some jail time if this **** is to stop....

Yes but it was their irresponsibility (triggered by immaturity) that led to this. Its too bad because Wasim Akram had said that Mohammed Amir was actually better than he was at that age.

this time it is very difficult to predict that South African or indians are favorite due to home pitches but i think every good team of the world can perform well this time for the winnig because asian pitches suits every team . so every batsman can approve itself not only sachin kallis or above you mention .

No prediction about Pakistani team they are the dark horse they can do a big upset like 1992 when there was no chance they won or simply be out of the cup like 2007

Geoffrey Boycott once said in Cricket you can not get bigger then this its Pakistan and India

I got the shirt for the team I back no matter they win or lose

Thats the great thing about this tournament, such as open comp!

My players to watch - Pollard, Trott, Amla, Watson, MS D.

I would put my money of Sth Africa, I would put someone else's money on Australia or England
