I was looking at some AE, particularly the clifton but they seem to cut so full and high, if u know what I mean... I'd like something a bit flatter. Any advice...

most AEs are cut full and high in the toebox, that is the endearing and famous look of AE, but there are a few lasts, like the 7 last with a lower toebox, according to teacher.

you may go with anything on the 7 last, or go with a C&J or an italian brand name which are more geared to lower and tapered and enlongated toebox lasts.

i am not familiar with the brand grenson, they are a brand name laterally associated with c&j around here in terms of quality.
but these are the lower line of grenson, the grenson masterpieces are the ones on par with cj.
but if you like them, and in your budget, go for them.
