go to military surplus store, ask for m-65 jacket, and they can order one in your size for cheap most likely.

No, not easy. M65s are nylon, and being functional field jackets intended to be worn over already bulky clothing, they are extremely loose and boxy.

H&M has a "fashion" M65 that should set you back like $60.

There was a black one at the army surplus that my friend got, in heavy cotton with a zip out hood (though a pretty weak one). Pretty cool coat though - I tried it on first but didn't like the fit; he did.

I think that the original poster is looking for the "Jack Bauer" Jacket as I am. It was made popular in season 5 of "24" the TV Series. Any help in finding this for both the original poster and myself would be great!

Cool jacket, but 140 pounds is a LOT more than the $150 he wanted to spend, thanks to the wonderful exchange rate. That's about $275 or thereabouts thanks to the tanking dollar.

Interestingly, after I made this thread I found a hooded M65 in my family coat closet. Serendipitous, eh?

I tried like 5 different military jackets at H&M this week and the stuff wasn't slim fitting at all (more than military surplus though). Good for layering but not exactly what I wanted.

The stuff they had back in March, when minya posted, was probably leftovers from their Fall/Winter stuff of last year. For some reason those jackets really did seem to be cut much slimmer through the body. A lot of their stuff that I've tried on recently has been a little off as far as the fit goes. I'm not really sure why, but I agree: some of their jackets, in particular, seem less slim-fitting than they used to.
