Not exactly - it had normal sized points like an Italian cutaway collar shirt, but with thick little MOP buttons. Right there. On the side.

Yes, and I like the brocade vests at L'escalier d'Argent ... yet both Will & RJman have warned me that I should know better than to wear one.

You mean ... it might prohibit him from performing oral services?

I'd love to wear a cloak. Ah well.

I always think it's interesting when stuff like the dramatic cutaway gets a pass on the forum. I wonder if it would have received the same reception had it been trotted out by Thom Browne.

I have to admit ... I'm not a Thomie fan.

BTW ... I too like cloaks. I even went to a school (first grade) that had cloakrooms ... not lockers.

I remember a night in Venice when I couldn't get to sleep. I decided to go out for a late night/early morning walk. As I was unable to find my overcoat ... I looked in the entry hall closet and found a black cape that belonged to my host.

I had much fun wearing it. And ... for some odd reason everyone backed off and gave me a wide path.

I think I have something like you describe, but not as severe (certainly not under the ears). It's a very odd shirt, twill, brown and blue check, with french cuffs. It's a little fuzzy with wear and obviously not intended to be worn with a tie. When the collar button is undone my memory is that the points are probably 1/2 to 2/3 of the way from a standard button down to those in the example posted by mossrocks, above.

I haven't worn it in some time, less because it's some sort of abomination (I find it interesting), more because pre-SF I was inclined to put up with clothes that were a little too large.

Well I saw a buttoned cutaway collar on Saturday

Just had Cego do this for a casual cotton shirt I like. Where were you Saturday?

.... but even for a huge knot that's a bit excessive!
