1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

^ I can believe that. By "local", I mean anyone who has been there long enough to drink the kool aid. Everyone I know in SF is from the east coast.

I think I know one native San Franciscan. But half of the people I know are from the midwest, rather than the east.

In all the time I lived there, and all the people I worked with and interacted with, I don't think I can come up with five people who were actually born and/or raised in San Francisco, and I struggle to come up with a dozen who were born/raised within fifty miles of there. It's a strange place like that. It's hard to find someone who is actually from there.
Well, now you e-know a native. Born in SF, raised in and around the place.

I think San Francisco is a fine place for people who get tired of NYC.

Euphemism for people you generally don't want to be around imo...

I went to the leafs game last month and had $200 seats and it was nice. Have box seats to a game next month. Being around colorful people is so overrated. I had nobody spilling beer on me or screaming in my ear. I was sitting next to two very milfy wimminz that made quite pleasant conversation with me.

Maybe, but Matt was complaining that all he meets are Subaru liberals.

I'd never live in California as I could never afford it and its just to damn crowded...... But I've heard that Marlin County is nice.... like others have said... I think i'd rather live in one of LA's beach communities then SF if I had to..

Lulz, women in San Francisco really aren't hot. I remember I always felt overly made up every time I went out there, and that's just because I was wearing lipstick. [IMG]

I was born in SF. I know a fair number of others.

Understatement. All of these perpetually smug and uber-liberal cities tend to have the ugliest of wimminz. (See also: Portland, Ore).

My howl at the moon days are long behind me, but what is with the women there? There was one cute girl working in the only worthwhile shop I came across - Coup d'Etat, and that was it.

    Why have they fled?

It's kind of true, I saw all of SF in basically one day, and there was nowhere I wanted to go back to. Never been to LA though, might be more kind of town though certain minorities make me nervous.

Look closely in their eyes, however, and what you see is a tinge of fear.

    Classic line.

they are around...they just hide inside cars... one of the hottest girls i know worked concierge at hotels there - she was a vietnamese japanese mix... (i would have said "half" but lefty started this thread [IMG] ) but she was waaay into being in a AZN gang or something and would tell me about how she was going to fight this korean chick after work or something. she was in her mid twenties mind you and a college graduate.... seems like the azns in the bay area can be totally militant when it comes to their lexus/acura/bmw gangs.. its just so relaxed there that there is no concerted effort for girls to look hot. i love san fran though it really can be pretty.

Waiters are way too chummy and have no idea how do do their job. Look, pal - you are not part of our conversation; don't touch me when telling me the specials; and don't remove an empty plate until we're all finished. I finally had to tell a waiter to leave the plate and he looked at me like I killed his puppy.

I HATE it when waiters do this.

    Literally.
Someone upthread talked about people shitting in the street. That is small-time.
I remember walking along and dudes with huge chunks missing from their legs bleeding onto the pavement appearing out of nowhere. Meanwhile, families continued eating their meals at a bistro. it was like Resident Evil
