Hi all. I work on 51st and Lexington. I am going to a fundraiser for Giulani tonight and I need to quickly buy a shirt since the Turnbull & Asser shoe salesman pointed out that my collar is way too big.

Does anyone know of somewhere in the neighborhood that I can buy a decent dress shirt for around $50-$75? (Or less)

Thanks!

There's a whole slew of stores on 5th Ave in the 50s. You could try Brooks Brothers there.

Bloomingdales house brand, Banana Republic, Saks Ike Behar crap, if the Bergdorf sale is still on you can get one of their house brand shirts for less than $100. Jos A Bank, Brooks Brothers, J Press

I wish there was a Nordstrom in the City. I love their JWN shirts.

Will I find something within my price range in their Faconnable store?

If the sale is still on, yes. But don't all their shirts have faconnable tag on the front pocket

Well, his event is tonight. I don't think Jon is quite that fast.

J. Press and Brooks are good suggestions.

Nuts to that! It’s WAY overpriced for what they sell. Plus the customer service sucks (edmorel’s balls).

Go to Charles Tyrwhitt on Madison and 46th and get a shirt from them, plus it's really close to your office.

Jon.

I've never been to the NYC T&A store, but I don't think I've heard a single positive comment about the employees there. Ever.

The only good employee over there is the lady in charge of the C&J shoe boutique who, naturally, does not work for T&A.

I was only in the shoe dept salivating over the C&Js. I really want that Weymouth, and now I know my size (For Plal

).

The salesman told me I should go elsewhere for shirts since they range from $300-400 in T&A.

The shoe salespeople were really nice and surprisingly knowledgeable.

And that's saying a lot from a company that charges $325 for a shirt that doesn't even have matching patterns, as standard, on bespoke shirts!

Interestingly enough, during the sale, three of their employees (a spanish kid with long hair, a British man who seems to be the assistant manager/manager, and the older spanish guy who I think is the store manager, were wonderful with me. They gave me great discounts when I was buying multiple (the Partenopea jackets and other stuff I sold here) items and I was able to sell the stuff here cheaper than they were selling the same items in the store for.
