I need some sunglasses, no clue what to get

I've never worn a pair of glasses or sunglasses in my life. I honestly can't decide if something looks good on me or not because it's just weird seeing myself with glasses on and I can't get by that...

Normally I wouldn't wear glasses, but I really need a pair of sunglasses for driving. Right now I've gotta squit when it's bright out and obviously that gets annoying. When there's snow it'll be even worse heh.

Anyway. I've got a long narrow face, a light tan and I'm pretty skinny. Any suggestions as to what type of frame might look good on me given the shape of my face?

Check out the Maui Jim Website: mauijim.com

You can search for a recomended frame for your paticular face shape. I don't own a pair of Maui Jims, but have seen some in the mall and they look really nice. I'm thinking of dropping a couple hundred bucks to buy a pair.

I love the new sunglasses by Tag Heuer. I just wish they weren't so damn expensive. I've debating about whether to buy a pair.

Check out eyeglasses.com. They have ton of different brands and styles - from inexpensive to Gucci and Versace (my personal favorite). The best feature is their "dressing room" in which you can pick your face-type and try on different models. I'm not convinced as to how effective it is, but it'll give you a place to start.

Personally, I would never buy a pair of glasses without first trying them on. I've just seen too many pairs that looked really cool on display, but totally wrong on my face.

My advice would be to visit one or more high-end specialty shops and hunt down two or three designs that strike you as genuinely flattering. (If you have a very patient significant other or best friend with a good eye for style, take her/him with you.) Note the make and model numbers for reference. Then, you can search the web and call local discount dealers to see if anyone has the same glasses at a good sale price.

Even better than that, you upload a picture of your own face, and then the website's software superimposes a picture of the glasses on it. I haven't tried it, so I have no idea how well they place the glasses on the picture, but it seems a clever idea.

I personally like the sunglasses by Cartier, and S.T. Dupont. They are a very classic, and elegant style but are quite expensive.
