Ah, fuck. Looks like my parents won't be going to the lakehouse 'till Saturday morning.

Being that it's Friday, chances are I'll still wind up at a party with her...so you horny toads may not even have to wait 'till Sat. night to hear some results.

    So here's the current sitch.

I'm throwing a small party tomorrow at Casa di Conne, and Jessica will be attending. I've spoken to her best friend who thinks I should say something to her regarding this whole matter. I told her I didn't feel confident Jess felt the same way towards me and she just said, "No, you need to try. You never know what will happen."

How should I proceed? Do away with the lovey shit and just make a move on her tomorrow?

Didn't you already "say something to her" and get "that's so cute" in response? Get beyond that. Either "make a move" or ask her out in a way that makes clear it's a date -- i.e., "Why don't we go out on a real date this Friday?"

And your friend spoke the truth. It doesn't matter whether you're confident that she feels the same way. The way you get confident is to put it out there and have her reciprocate. If she says "no", you have your answer (she's a lesbian [IMG]) and can move on.

The deal with the best friend is that, I guess technically, she's better friends with me.

Don't count on it, especially if you have to qualify that with "technically". They're both girls, which is a thumb on the scale.

This girl has a boyfriend, right? You need to set the boyfriend up to get caught cheating. Hire a girl from an escort service if you need to. Or just spread a nasty rumor that he's cheating. The girl will be devastated and seek comfort in your arms.

Plus, a woman might love you like a brother, and you may be her best friend in the entire world, but she will still discuss any- and everything you have done or will do if it's vaguely interesting or topical. The same goes for any woman you date. Assume that as soon as you say something or do something, all of her friends know about it. No matter how private, embarassing, or personal you think it is. Unless you specifically and explicitly ask her to keep it quiet, she won't. And even then, she might not.

This is true for many men as well, but to be honest, I think it's far more widespread among women.

They're not dating. The whole thing is actually rather taboo...the guy is her brother's best friend, and if her bro found out, he would go apeshit and probably kick this guy's ass and never speak to his sister again.

LOL, the only way I learned about their love-that-dare-not-speak-its-name was by promising Jess I wouldn't tell her brother about it. I'd feel like shit if I did, too...they're really close, or as close as constantly bickering sisters and brothers can get.
