I need a staple dark brown cap toe oxford - please help!

It's amazing that I reached 30 without ever truly investing in dress shoes, despite the fact that I work in a law office. For a few years after law school, I wore these apron toe to boot new york shoes that I thought were so high quality my senior year in college ('04). Then I got these Barney's label cap toe oxfords in '09 at a warehouse sale and been wearing them ever since. They probably should've been retired a year ago, at least.

Thing is, despite the poor fit (ankle is too big, a common problem for me), I actually love the shape of the shoe. Very slim profile, basic cap toe and a nice dark shade of brown. The sole is out of sight looking down on the shoe, which I like.

In sum, I'm looking to replace this guy, with a serious shoe in the same general style. I'm willing to spend up to $500ish.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Next time get shoes that fit well. How is your foot shape unusual - wide forefoot with narrow heel? Also, approximate location?

Carmina is always a great choice, and the 732 Robert captoe is classic and sleek. I’ll also throw out the very similar Church's Consul for consideration. These were my first dress shoe and are still my go-to brown oxfords.
