Really? I love the selection and specially the prices of their garments. You do have to set your alarm a few minutes before the sale, but I love that you can find something a fraction of the price it usually is.
to tell you the truth, ive been a regular customer to gilt once again, this time picking up random items for casual/street wear. it is a terrible site for mens clothing bargains but for sneakers, jeans, shorts, tshirts and such there's some good stuff there recently.
I don't order anything I'm not familiar with, and if I miss a sale don't get all crazed, because a lot of the designers didn't really catch on, hence the need to move stock of "$200" shoes for $40. And some of the offerings are just hideous...
Is this also why SoCal2NYC doesn't post much now?
Yeah the selection is the worst part. Today at the Grenson sale of course it was the castoffs from UK sales about 6 months ago... desert boots, brogues with garish colors and weird stitching. The only ones that caught my eye were the blue oxfords, but the $150 price tag didn't have me hurrying to pull the trigger.
you have to apply a different definition of "fit" to avant-garde designers like owens and yohji yamamoto. traditional concepts of fits that flatter, etc. go out the window in favor of interesting concepts.
