It is nonsense to equate all UK sites to Bookster.

I'm aware that it's foolish to equate other sites to Bookster...but my experience really traumatized me slightly

Wow..The jackets on the recommended sites are way more expensive than the UK sites...

Not to mention you'll have to pay import duty.

What kind of fit are you after? All of tweed jackets you've listed are a long way off a modern fit - hardly any form apart from a pinched waist and extremely generous in cut.

slim/tapered fit..pretty much I would like it to fit like a suit jacket. I'm pretty skinny with some muscle tone.

Trust me you will not find that style of fit on any of those sites...

I've been looking around at Harris Tweed options and have discovered a number at wildly different price points.

The cheapest option, shockingly, is found at JC Penny(!). Genuine Harris tweed, with very lighly padded shoulders, and an amazingly not-goofy fit. Very conventional design. Price last weekend (on sale of course) was $120. If you get the shoulders right, you can have a tailor slim it down and be out less than $200. Only two colors, though--gray/black herringbone and a really ugly (to me) multi-check. They're made in Mexico, if that matters to you.

Lands End has jackets in a green multi-check in the $300 range. I seriously doubt they'll be slim. Only the one color, too.

J Crew has jackets that are slim (their Ludlow fit), and they have a variety in Harris tweed and other tweeds from the Abraham Moon factory in England. Their stuff is all made in China, and it's expensive at $500 and up. Sales rarely take more than 25% off.

Brooks Brothers has tweed jackets in their slim cuts as well. They're definitely slim, and on the pricier side.

Southwick and J Press are up at the higher end in price, pushing $1000. As noted above, They're not slim.

Hope this helps...

Have to tried nsuited? They are limited in selection, but the prices are great. I purchased a tweed Belvest sportcoat from them and have been very pleased with it.
