It's incredibly satisfying to me to throw out useless crap that's been accumulating in the house. I love to just grab a contractor garbage bag and throw out pretty much anything I don't need - from some magazines that have been accumulating to just misc junk I don't need around.

It's only second to shredding a pack of old unneeded docs.

Amen.

Threw out a bunch of stuff yesterday. 2 Kiton's, 2 Brioni's, and a pair of Ed Green.

All that RTW **** is sooo aspirational stuff.

I'd throw out an A8 if they made a bag big enough for one and I had an A8.

Seriously a thick contractor bag makes all the difference.

I have a very serious shredder too..

I live to throw things out. I love the feeling of getting rid of useless old crap that is cluttering my space and my life and my mind.
I get really into it too, I think I scare my wife and dog.

This has been a weekly thing for me the last several months. I'm paring down a sizable chunk of my possessions because I'm just tired of being surrounded by stuff.

i abhor waste. its not enough to make me hoard crap but it is enough to make me feel incredibly bad when doing a purge.

after moving house last time i vowed never to buy another thing i would not treasure and i seem to be sticking to it.

the exception is books which i dont mind collecting.

I love love love throwing stuff away. I get freaked out by clutter, so I am always throwing stuff away to keep it clean. I love the feeling of pulling out an entire bag of clothes for goodwill.

Outside of perfumes and shaving goods, I've been paring it back: recycling books and magazines, tossing papers and tchotckes.

SF in general has made me buy less but buy better (in everything). Quality > Quantity. Having too much **** around not only resitricts your physical space but clutters the mind too.

Newspapers are the worst it seems. A lot of daily waste. I am trying to go towards reading it all online, but I find I read more articles (and more variety of articles) with a paper instead of on a screen.

Then, of course, are all the damn catalogs everyone sends me. I actually like the menswear catalog from STP because I tend to notice garments I wouldn't notice otherwise (anyone seeing a trend here? I suck at the interweb I guess). But still, it just seems like so much waste.

Agree with everyone above and I'll go even further: I get a minor kick out of finishing off consumable stuff (milk, leftovers, etc.) and then tossing the container. For me, it's similar to cleaning house or washing clothes, i.e., that's one stain/dust/clump of cat hair that's gone forever. Not so bad before the item's been opened, but once it is I have this low-grade compulsion to get it gone.

Particularly enjoy doing my taxes each year when I purge my file cabinet of that year's receipts/invoices/statements, etc.
