1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Anybody have suggestions for a good silver tequila other than Patron (similarly priced or cheaper)?. I've recently decided that I like tequila a lot, I just never drink it.

Milagro, Don Julio, Herradura, and a few others. There's a tequila thread in this forum. Go hit that for some specifics.

Milagro is good. I'm partial to El Tesoro when I can find it.

Picked up a bottle of Glen Breton last night.

If you haven't tried it, and you like scotch, do yourself a favor.

Need a rec for some well brandy (for egg nog). For example, is the Osborne 103 Negra or reserva del Toro any good? Stock 84?

Aside from that, has anyone had Antinori's brandy?

I used to use Courvoisier for eggnog. I have been using añejo tequila with Amontillado sherry instead of normal brandy/rum eggnog lately and i prefer that much better.

Whiskey of any variety works well in eggnog too, IMO.

Unfortunately, the cheapest anejo tequilas start at about 30$ so I'll have to postpone it I think...or I'll just grab some reposado.

What I realized the other day is that all the time I've been using the 47%/94 proof Beefeater. I always bought it at the same place and always got the same bottle. Guess I have to grab a bottle of the regular 40%/80 proof Beefeater and reevaluate most gin cocktails. Nonetheless, I prefer the 94 proof Beefeater over 80 proof Tanqueray in most cocktails.
