1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Bought some reprints of old school racing related posters (monaco grand prix, tour de france) from a flea market and a dining set off craigslist.

Table and Chairs all from Crate & Barrel or CB2 for $100 total. Can't believe I nearly bought these kinds of stuff full price. May replace the chairs later though. The photo is from CL not my place.

Will try to upload pics of the prints a little later.

Let me know how the table works out. I once tried the one from Ikea and it was junk. Wobbled way too much. Curious if this version is nicer.

Man I completely missed this question... :embar:

It's from CB2. Bought it on sale. Been a great lamp so far and I have been happy with the purchase.

I have this table in yellow, which is a fair amount larger, and it is pretty stable. I wouldn't let someone sit on it (but who lets someone sit on their dining table?) but it is stable.

I think the issue is that it is just hard to make a stable table with a central leg with cheap components. The ikea Saarinen knockoffs are always going to be flimsy because you need a pretty heavy bit of steel to keep it rigid.

Oh, I agree with you. I would assume the $200 CB2 table he bought wouldn't be much better then the cheaper IKEA, but thought I would ask for a first hand account. Just curious, more then anything else. The one you own looks nice, but is also 5 times as much.

Wow!!! 9500ci eh? How is it? Has the laser jammer worked for you?

I love the ix and even more so with the smart cord. As the smart cord gets more users it could be the end of speeding tickets. It allows people to report cops even if they are not currently engaged in speed limit enforcement. The GPS feature is great too at weeding out false alarms. I also like that you can now do firmware updates on your own. I had a 8500 x50 and it was in bad need of an update.

A lot of the features are the same as what you have with the ci so I am sure you are not missing out on much if anything.

Aren't these things illegal in some countries and jurisdictions? Think they're legal in the UK and China.

I rather like how the inside of the leg tubes are painted the same color as the surface.

Best part though is that my aunt got it for something crazy like $20 (maybe as much as $100 but I think less). Was at a thrift store that stocks a lot of what must be bludot floor models or samples.

Had a nick on it but that got filled up with some epoxy filler and my dad's studio is right by their place so he wandered in and they gave him a jar of color-matched touch up paint.
