1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Short version: Someone found this guy's website and posted a link. On his site there were dozens of pictures of him in vintage suits, mostly 3-piece, with watch fobs, etc. There were also pics of him in vintage military uniforms. The thread here went on at some length, and some of the posts were quite mocking. Eventually, the dude in question appeared, made a few comments, engaged in a little back-and-forth (and aquitted himself rather well, in my opinion) and then disappeared. That was two or three months ago.

Wasn't his site a more or less private one that was intended only for his friends to see? I think that was the whole point. Otherwise, nobody here would have heard about it if somebody else hadn't linked it.

The person who posted the thread did it with harmless intentions.

I really enjoyed the writing - it was quite funny and SFW. Bummer to see it taken down, but if the guy wants to take a break I understand.

I agree and did not mean to imply otherwise.

I'm with Brian SD on this one, its not like the original poster was bringing it to our attention to blast the guy, if memory serves me correctly he was actually quite complimentary of the guys style.

Doubtful that "in the pants" is a "your eyes only" location for the Clintonites...

I was just throwing that statement in there because there are some new people here, they might have thought that LK posted it to talk trash.
