I'm done!!!!!

Finished my final class in my MBA program last night. Walk in the graduation ceremonies tomorrow.

It's been a fun two years and now it's back to that age-old question, what do I want to be when I grow up?

Just thought I'd share.

Thanks everyone.

I'm doing a couple of strategic business plans, but those are short-term contracts. I'm still looking for a permanent position.

Did you have an area of specialty before the MBA? Did you take a specialized MBA? I would leverage either/both of that. Or now's the time to make a big career change as a fresh grad. Does the school (I'm sure ASU does) have a placement office? Use that.

Seconded.

I did an executive program, so I wasn't faced with this issue - I stayed at the same job. It depends on whether you went back to school because you didn't like your previous job and needed the degree to do something else or whether you are interested in continuing in the industry you were in.

Congrats!

I don't want to come off as an ass but why were you not lining up a job while in school? Did you do internships? From what I understand, MBAs really need experience along with the MBA to be sellable.

Agreed. Isn't the whole point of getting an MBA to network for a couple years? I don't know real use the degree is besides that.

Yes, when I went to b-school, we all felt that crap about running P&Ls, etc. was worthless.

If that's how you feel about your MBA, go get your tuition money back. IMO, just like law school, a good MBA will make you think about things in your field differently. It should also hammer in some basic things that a non-business major would not necessarily have learned in undergrad.

Damn, it's been two years already? It seems like it was just recently that you posted the thread about losing your job and deciding to go back to school. Anyway, awesome accomplishment, congratulations, and best of luck to you.
