What would be a decent sub $100-ish pair of jeans with a classic fit (I guess, not to tight, not too loose) with, most importantly, a mid rise (I.e at the waist)? Oh and it must have a zip fly. I can't stand a button fly.

Looking for a pair of below £100 black selvedge (possibly raw) denim. Don't have the funds at the moment to be splashing out, and it would be my first pair of coloured selvedge so I have no idea who does that well. Only ones I've seen so far would be Naked and Famous on sale. Uniqlo in the UK only seem to do grey and blue at the moment. Although the light blue instead of the red line selvedge on the grey ones looks pretty cool.

Hey looking for jeans that are a classic straight fit kind of like levi 501s, als ones that are similarly priced. The 501s I've gotten the past 2 weeks are gawdaful in quality and consistency in fit. I mainly just need them for real casual...bit of a trad guy so I'm talking sweater with jeans a boat shoes/bean boots. Also, a good recommendation for selvage would be appreciated (once again under 100 please).

Don't know much about denim and the various brands but... I'm looking for something in a fairly similar wash to the Levis 501 "Light Stonewash" (http://us.levi.com/product/index.js....3146845.3699943.3146924&fbn=3942211|33W|null), ie light blue, minimal pre-fading/honeycombing & all that.

I feel like I can probably find something in the same wash but of much better quality. I have heard pretty bad reports about the basic Levis (see above^^). I don't wear jeans all that often (hence why I am not interested in selvedge stuff) but I'd rather something reputable.

I have a 33 waist but large thighs. In terms of dress pants, I wear Epaulet Rudys in a size 33, measurements of which are here (13.25" thigh).

I am looking for something with a similar fit in the thigh and seat, but probably more tapered at the bottom (although I'll happily take them to a tailor).

I have checked out the appropriate fits of APC, N&F and Nudie but none seem to carry something in that exact wash.

    Cheers for any suggestions.

Yeah, depends on the jeans and what you're trying to do with them. There's toonnnsss of information on that floating around though. A quick search will show you more than you wanted to know.

Your best bet is to look through B&S here and see what people are selling for <$100 if you want higher quality than Levis for that price.

The unbranded brand, how is the construction quality of these jeans? same level than 3sixteen SL100, Nudie or APC?

    cheers

I have the Levis 514 jeans . This style has the Levis rivets in the back pockets. (1873)
The color is a dark wash denim blue. There are no faded streaks or faked distressed
areas , which is another reason I like this style. Also I will be receiving a pair of LVC
1915 Cone Mills 501 Levi Jeans. Also in dark wash blue. this style has no belt loops ,
Buckle in the back with buttons. Rivets in the back & one in the crotch area.
Thanks for any input ! :worship:

I threw my raw selvage denim in the dryer on 'air only' for about 50 minutes. Is there any harm in doing this? I was pressed for time so I couldn't hang dry.

most likely they'll look dull and feel softer. not that there's anything wrong with that, some people actually prefer a softer washed/dried feel. but if you were trying to characterize your jeans with fades and whiskers you're probably going to be disappointed.

Thanks for the info. The fades and whiskers should return with time and wear correct?

No idea never owned and APC and the only jeans I have from TS are canvas, so I cant really speak on their denim.

Their customer service is great so get a pair if you find they dont fit how you like send them back for free.
