I'm considering purchasing a pair of black mij raw diors size 28

    Measurements of jeans:
    Thigh- 10'
    Hip- 16.5'
    Waist- 15'

Measurements of my bare body I expect the thigh and hip to fluctuate since I'm cutting and losing bf.
    Thigh- 11'
    Hip- 16'
    Waist- around 15'

A lot of the times in tighter jeans the top block tends to be too tight, mostly in the hip. From the hip down I can handle any amount of taper.

diors are meant to be sagged and slouchy, which means they'll be not very tight up top but pretty fitted from the knee down.

What bothers me is that it looks too uneven with the color of the rest of the jean, and looks more like dust or dirt than natural fading.... I'm probably worrying about this too much, as I doubt other people will notice unless they look closely at my knees.

    EDIT: sorry for double post

The whole point is that they fade unevenly. That's what gives you the cool patterns and such.

Stuff like that is the goal. Authentic looking wear. If it's actually authentic like those, so much the better. If you want picture perfect 'ideal' wear, buy a pair predistressed.

If you spot dye or anything like that, you'll wind up with a spot darker then the surrounding area that won't fade at the same rate. That will look worse.

Not really. Diors are pretty straight throughout- there is a very noticeable taper obviously, but it's not "fitted" by any means.

Chinos are something that lawyers wear on casual Fridays, so I'm looking for a jean in khaki, straight leg, regular fit. I have a pair of Rag & Bone RB12 that fit me well. Your knowledgeable recommendations are most appreciated.

Good call, thanks for the reassurance. I'll just wait and see how these turn out and if I don't like how they look completely faded I'll just overdye 'em.

Not sure if this will fit your bill. The SEXT11 Jungle Cloth from SelfEdge is the "category killer" by itself. Pretty pricey though. http://www.selfedge.com/shop/index.p...roducts_id=538

kind of a problem, more of an annoyance. the width of the legs on my 47's differ about half an inch. it doesn't bother me on the thigh because i know that eventually it will stretch out. the extra half inch width one leg does bother me because it kind of flares out like a boot cut. oddly enough the hem is the same width.

should i taper the leg? (i kind of wanted to slightly taper from knee to hem anyways) or will it even out after the first wash/second soak?

Are you talking about 21cms? Because 19cms are fitted even wearing your true waist and 17.5s are even moreso.

Since they're on the knee, the area will get faded near completely (and in the process will be made uniform)

What's the word here on the quality of April 77 stuff? the gigantic tag turns me off, but I was wondering if it's meant to be removed. I saw some stuff for sale but am waiting to pull the trigger.

    Thanks

What do you mean "what color they are"? PBJ only has 2 standard colors, indigo and black. Then there are the 007 (indigo warpxweft, easy to recognize) and the 010 (indigo warpxpurple weft, easier to recognize)

    Those are plain indigo....

They are indeed plain indigo. I was under the impression there were variations on the standard colours other than those two. But they seem to be plain old indigo.

Also, despite the handle I'm actually a dude so just to be sure these are definitely mens jeans aren't they? can you tell at a glance? The care label has only one set of digits which bring zero results on google. And what is the deal with the leaf/bluetab on the rear? Mine only have the tab.

Those are either the 003 or 005 model, based on the slubbyness (rough texture) the denm seems to have in the pictures, as well as the darker hue. The 003 is a more relaxed fit, the 005 is a very slim cut. Best to take a look at the size charts, measure your jeans and compare.

Thanks for the links. I think the 005 model is closet to mine having looked a those...they have a slight inward arc on the inside leg like my pair which the 003's don't have.
