    Hi,

I was wondering if someone could post Blue in Green style measurements for Dior 21cm's--size 34 probably? I have two pairs of jeans currently and am looking for another. The measurements for my current jeans are listed below, both fit will, though the PBJ's fit pretty ideally (and have been worn a lot). I was just trying to figure out if Dior's would work for me. Or if there is another pair of jean that you think would be particularly good for me, i'd be happy to take any recommendations?

Lastly, does anyone know a tailor in CT/NJ/NY City, that could be good for jeans? I have a pair of jeans that I would like to get modified (the last pair listed below), to fit closer to the top two measurements. Any thoughts, would be appreciated (sorry for all the non-quick questions).

Takumi Classic Cut (dont remember the model)

    Blue in Green style measurements:

    Waist-18.5
    Front Rise-11
    Back Rise-15
    Upper Thigh-13
    Inseam-33.5
    Knee-9.5
    Leg Opening-9.25

    PBJ-XX005

    Waist-18.25
    Front Rise-10.5
    Back rise-16
    Upper Thigh-12.25
    Inseam-33.5
    Knee-9
    Leg Opening-9

Pair, I want adjusted. They just look huge on me (like I am swimming in them). It looks like if I just lost an inch/half inch on both sides they would work). Is that doable without ruining the jeans/screwing up the selvage, etc etc?

    Waist: 18.5
    FR-12
    BR-16
    UT-13.5
    Ins-32.5/33
    Knee-10.25
    Leg-8.75

If you made it this far in reading it, thanks!

Good to know. I followed your previous advice and got the smaller size. They are tight now but will stretch out to be perfect.
That's what you want! I guarantee in three weeks those things will fit perfectly.
Hi, PBJ-XX005 Waist-18.25 Front Rise-10.5 Back rise-16 Upper Thigh-12.25 Inseam-33.5 Knee-9 Leg Opening-9 Pair, I want adjusted. They just look huge on me (like I am swimming in them). So, basically you want to alter the legs of the jeans to be closer to the PBJ 005s? This will really need to be done on the selvage side, unless your tailor can deal with the felled inseam, which is much more complicated. Alteration on the selvage outseam will keep the selvage band, but it will be wider by ~ 1/2" or so at the hem and over 1.5" at the thigh. Not a big deal, I've done knee-down alterations on the outseam with perfect results. However, the leg taper from the thigh upwards will need to address how it transitions into the hip and waist area without looking awkward. Plus, tapering into the pocket/hip area is slightly tricky, if you look at the construction inside the jeans. Alteration of the hip, rise or any part of the top-block requires deconstruction of the jeans and is more effort than it's worth. Frankly, you're much better off exploring other fit-options. Can you elaborate on what you like specifically about the 005s so we can guide you to other options?

I can tell you that a pair of 21cms will have a waist of 36" and a hem of 21.5cms. 21cms will fit a lot looser than 005s (maybe closer to 003s?), 19cms will fit closer to them.

I figured this would be the best place to post this, but not sure. There are a few 1947's being sold on the Levi's website for $100. I'm a bit new to this, so I have some beginner questions. These are raw, so I should size up a bit, right? I know it's generally recommended to up 2" for the waist and 3" for the inseam, but can I get away with 31" x 34" if I soak in the bathtub wearing the jeans so they don't shrink too much?

So I am looking for some jeans a bit slimmer than 501s, maybe with a bit of taper, so I don't look like an old man the entire time. I can't do skinny jeans, I just feel like a fool wearing them.
I suppose APC new standards might fit the bill, but I really can't be bothered with size down two, cuff legs till they have finished shrinking rigmarole, and would really prefer something cheaper as they will mostly be for going out in and will get booze etc. on them, any recommendations?

The RRL jeans I have fit how you describe. They are snugger in the butt and slightly in the leg. They give just enough that I dont get knee bags. I believe they are labeled slim, I cant be sure since it is faded out now, might ask some RRL people.

Who makes a dry denim jean with similar looking denim to the Dior Homme dry jeans? I was in their store today and was really taken with the Japanese-made dry ones, and the color, along with the contrast stitching and the fact that it wasn't to "orangy" or "yellowy."

I didn't buy those because a) I don't really want to spend $350 on jeans right now and b) I'm really not a fan of the hook/bar closure on jeans. However, I'm open to suggestions!

Are there any special considerations for hemming selvedge jeans? My only pair of raws is a pair of uniqlo selvedge and they are just way too long. I've been rocking em cuffed AND stacked.

What do you guys think is the best pair of black denim that matches what I'm looking for:
    • Less than $160
    • Has a larger top block but with a semi slim leg opening, about 8" leg opening
    • Has some sort of fading possibilities so selvedge
    • Could be a plus if it has some sort of pocket details that will contrast to my pair of APCs
I really like some of the black Ande Whall denim but they are out of my price range unless i really want to splurge.

Not to pimp my shit for sale too egregiously, but the 34 Grifters I'm selling would probably fit the bill. The top block is cut extremely slim for a 34, which suggests it would be a bit bigger for someone who wanted a smaller size. Or maybe it would suck.

Mostly, it's slim pickings for good black denim. I've looked at a lot (lot!) of black denim, and there isn't much out there that's all that enticing. The 90 day tour jeans from Kill City that whodini has been wearing look pretty promising, though (pictures in the denim thread, and whodini's waywts). The pocket details are a little busy for my taste, but they look good other than that. Selvege, documentated fade-ability, cut looks good, price is right. Not for sale yet.

Other than that, PBJs are cut by crazy people, Samurais are cut by different crazy people, Skulls have gold stitching on black (yuck) and are apparently near-impossible to fade, and I think FH blacks also have gold stitching, and a zip fly. And all of those are expensive. R&B and W+H have reasonable-seeming options, but I remember fade reports being negative, and they are, yet again, pretty expensive.

Yea, I keep checking measurements on your Grifters because I want them. The only thing though is the waist will be 2-3.5" too big as of now and even more with stretch. I'd probably fit the rest but only the waist, I could fix that with a belt. Also I'm changing my training from work capacity to strength so I'm looking at gaining 20lbs over the summer which would help with that problem, something I should think about it. Ugh jean shopping is a pain!

Looking at the andewhall - size chart for the grifters I should probably add .5" or something considering stretch? What are the stretch like in andewhalls? Also, am I half blind or does your grifters not have any pocket details?

... that 10" front rise also scares me. My APCs are 10.5" though
