Should I just start looking at other brands? I'm really looking to get into raw denim, but the various sizing strategies and lack of stores to try the stuff on (live in ohio) has me a little apprehensive. Suggestions? Any advice is greatly appreciated and sorry for the long post.

Yes. Look into measurements carefully before buying anything from now on.

what do you guys think of this fit? it's my first pair of raw denim and I feel that they are a bit too tight... especially underneath the knee they just seem to taper into this stupid tight look. what do you guys think? will they stretch out a bit? anyway I can make them baggier down there?

^ Don't (triple?) cuff the jeans. Hem them to about 2" longer than your regular inseam, and let the extra material stack, which lends volume and creates illusion of a straight cut.

^^ Those look iffy man. You need a bigger waist and looser leg. If they feel too tight they probably are.

Since the MC Denim 101 thread has turned into odd bickering, I thought I would move this over here:

You should find another pair and double check your measurements next time you buy. Shrinking won't do much to the waist at all.

I have a pair of APC Rescue 29s. They fit perfectly. I'm 6'5" and skinny, and typically wear a 32"x36" in dress pants.

I need a new pair of nice jeans with an inseam as long (or longer) than the APCs. I could go slightly tighter, but would prefer something similar. Any recommendations?

At the moment, I'm using a pair of Lucky "Hendrix" X-Longs (which are long enough for me)... I had a pair of 7s that were a nice dark wash, but the inseam is really too short for me to wear comfortably.

Doing that now. It looks like my best bet is the Iron Heart 634S but they are VERY expensive. Anybody know of a jean with a similar cut available in a 28" (actual not tagged) waist?

I would also consider the NS 27's but the 29" waist seems too big. Will taking them in and wearing a belt do the trick?

Thanks for the suggestions whacked and composer.

There're more to jeans than just APC...

Crate Squires/Hamilton are straight cut jeans similar to the IH634. Both are available at forum affiliate Secret Service, and should cost a bit less than APC after SF discount (SS has a 50% off sale right now actually). If you want something a bit slimmer, the Routes fit the bill.

Other straight cut jeans to consider are LVC 1947 501xx, KMW1980, Rag & Bone RB11, Imperial Dukes etc.

Size up, waist can be easy fitting if seat and thigh r fitted. Your balls will thank you

No see, this isn't good advice. He'll have a baggy waist and his pants will fit his legs tight.

Correct answer? He probably needs a different cut.

So Ive been wearing my NS alot lately, is there any way to get the stocking to stay mostly near the bottom? Its stacking at my knee and its kind of annoying....

Could they be too long? My usual inseam is about 30, and these are 34 so maybe I should hem them?

    Thanks!

I happened upon some brand new Acne Max Cash for $120 but can't pull the trigger.

Can someone give me some persuasion either way? I've been wanting these for a while but have always put them off - right now I'm not sure to get these or a jacket. Help. Thanks.

I am looking for a jean that has a slim thigh with a more generous leg opening (by generous I mean more straight or slight boot then a taper). This seems to be the ideal fit for my strange body shape.

I have a few pairs of slim jims that fit me very close to how I like them but unless I size down uncomfortably the thighs still end up baggy.

Not to seem fixated on nudie but I noticed they have a new narrow boot fit which I would like to try on but almost seems a parody in the extreme of what I am looking for.

    Anyone have any ideas?
