You people are nuts. JD, those jeans are brand fucking new. Either wear them for a solid week cuffed or spray water on the legs so you can stack more evenly. At the end of that week the creases, and more importantly the honeycombs, should be set; also, the jeans should stretch out enough for you to get the best idea of where the jeans will normally sit on your waist (another key element if you're going to hem them.) So once you feel like your jeans have been molded to the poin that they retain some wear memory, measure them out and have them hemmed. By the look on the right you'll need around 2-3" chopped off so that it's cleaner will still having a bit of stack. JD, water does a remarkable job of relaxing the tension in cotton so much so that you can negate the 3-5% shrinkage you might experience with sanforized jeans. Did you try stretching out the inseam on your ES while they were still wet?

^Yeah I got about an inch or so back. They're fine, I just wasn't expecting quite the length loss I got.

There appears to be very little consensus here.

To the dude who likes to wax paragraphs upon paragraphs on denim: (in windows moviemaker's "whodini" voice conversion macro) THEY'RE JUST FUCKIN JEANS.

That and I basically said the same thing.

Wearing jeans isn't rocket science. Just make sure you don't fuck them up by hemming them too short.

That's because everyone else is wrong.

One day, I hope to be as skilled and experienced as you in the field of wearing pants. Since we're on this topic, should I put my feet through the larger hole with a zipper first, or through one of the two smaller ones? Please advise.

Why can't we just be friends? Also, I'm a size 9. Is that OK for you?

Wearing jeans may not be rocket science but the decision to taper or not will substantially alter how they look... I'm leaning towards not.

    Now fight.

Damn whodini, hope you dont talk that way infront of the kids. [IMG] Can I have a quick concensus on Nudie Slim Jim's Dry Greycast quality/fit? I'm fairly certain I'm buying a pair off the B&S section.

    What kids?

I never liked the fit of SJ's on me but they're fairly popular and universal. Greycast can add something interesting to your outfit once worn through so...if it's cheap enough and you dig the fit, go for it.

Oh woops, got you confused with Warlock.

I like what I see on their site, and an image search on google brought up some very nice faded Grey cast wears, I think I'll get them.

    Cheers.

Hey guys, I just got some size 30 New Cures. They fit great (rather tight, even), through the calve, knees, and thighs, but even unstretched, are a bit loose around the arse, causing the jeans to slouch and flare out a bit at the hip. They look fine when I pull up the back rise, but then they fall down again (only in the back;the waist actually feels rather tight in the front/sides).

Anything I can to fix this? Suspenders (lulz)? Lots of squats? Stuffing cotton balls into the arse of my jeans? Something slightly more rational?

Oh, and whodini, d'you think I should consider getting my next pair of jeans MTM from jantzen? [IMG]
