    That would take a while.

Why not just check out SelfEdge and BlueinGreen and investigate for yourself?

Not to mention, its not company specific for the most part. We would need to break it down by models for each company.

But what the hell, you have loads of free time in between ordering Coke Zero & Jack and fending off girls named "Miyu" and "Riko." Get on it.

I finally went with the LVC 1947s [IMG]

I am requesting suggestions on some slim fit straight leg jeans. Something that will look good with boots. I think it will look better than my Ande Whall Grifters and APC NS look with my Redwings. [IMG] I've been researching the LVC 1947s but the high waist and possible large hipflare is turning me off.
    ty for suggestions!

So, I've got a notion to get a pair of black jeans. Solid black, not black/white. Slimmer fitting than not. Coated is not out of the question. I've got a pair of Samurai S5000BKs, so think about something totally not those.

I'm leaning in the general direction of the Acne Max Cash, but that's largely because the couple of people that have Acne jeans seem to love them. In particular, RyeGB seems to really like the Max Cash. I've looked at some Nudie models, and some of them seem... fine, I guess, but I haven't heard any raves and nothing I've heard about Nudie jeans in general makes me eager to own a pair.

Is there something else I should be looking at? The alleged low rise of the Max Cash makes me somewhat nervous. And they're a little expensive, which isn't totally a problem but I've got reservations inasumuch as they're overdyed, so it's unclear how important fabric and construction is. Or do they just fit amazingly well?

Also, I'm 6'2", 190lbs. Bad reference picture of myself at 6'2" 200lbs (and like four layers of shirts) here:

(Feel free to chuckle at the lamentable hair, etc. But that particular outfit was perfect for shoveling lots of snow. Yay Wranglers and HH harness boots.)

So, given that my dimensions are outside of the SF norm, I'm mildly concerned about making sure the jeans are slim enough that they fit my mood for things that are not loose[1], but not so tight and triangular that I look like a dork.

[1] The S5000BKs are really nice pants, and I don't suppose they're actually "loose", as such, but they're looser than I like on a lot of days that I feel like wearing black jeans. Especially because at non-skeletal waist sizes, the leg opening is quite large. Also they should probably be hemmed, but that's a whole separate thing.

    Hey everyone,

I'm a true waist 31, and I really like the fit of my APC rescues. I just picked up a pair of 21cm MIJ sz29. Haven't recieved them yet, but I'm concerned if they'll be too tight. I do work out and definitely appreciated the fullness of the rescue's leg. What do you guys think?

According to measurements, those are pretty similar to S5000BKs. Not really the fit I'm going for.

What about the Naked & Famous Slim Guy in black? http://www.farinellis.blogspot.com/

At $126 (not including SF discount and free shipping) it seems like a damn good deal for denim that will be better than Acne.

Acne's much like Nudie where the majority of the time you're buying the fit more than the fabric.

That's... really compelling, although it doesn't look very black in the picture. $126! That seems insanely cheap, which probably means that denim enthusiasts on the internet have irreversibly warped my brain. It does look black/white, which is a minus.

I guess the question with Acne is: is the fit that awesome?

I've seen them in person and they're definitely black just not overdyed. N&F does decent selvage for cheap.

Fits can really vary from person to person. Personally I've liked the Max fit have never bought Acne for two reasons: 1) I'd never buy them at retail and have seen them on sale at times but 2) the denim isn't anything to write home about.

The Slim Guy looks awfully damn close to the Max fit, though.

I have a pair of A.P.C. Rescues which I love, except when I'm sitting down. The crotch bunches up and gives me a bad case of camel toe unless I pull them down far enough where my ass starts to hang out (sorry for being graphic). Anyways, I am about to buy a new pair of jeans but was wondering what I should watch out for to avoid this. I thought it might only be the length of the front rise, but then I realized I have a pair of Nudie Straight Svens that have a shorter front rise and don't give me this problem. I'm looking at some Ironheart 634S now and some other jeans where the front rise seems to be around the same size as both the Rescue's and the Straight Sven's. Any advice or ideas?

Damn. I'm looking at jeans on BiG and the SDA and PBJ jeans seam to jump from 34 to 36 inch waists. Most of my best fitting jeans are 35 inches in the waist. Unfortunately I live in a denim wasteland and don't have the opportunity to try any of this stuff on.

With shrink to fit jeans am I be better off going with a 34 or 36? I assume most try to buy jeans that fit properly after a good soak and not before soaking.

SlamMan, there's a lot of things to consider... Are the rises of the jeans different? If your 35'' jeans are a lower rise, you wear them lower on your hips (probably), so you would wear a slightly smaller-waisted jean in a higher rise (assuming you wear them higher as they were meant to be...a lot of people just sag higher-rise jeans to the same spot they wear all pants). Are you young? Even if you are not, odds are you wont get any slimmer over time unless you really want to and work hard at it. The jeans you are looking at will last you many, many wears, so be prepared to compensate for you getting larger with time. Are you good with pain? Even if they sold a 35'' jean, it's gonna be painful for a few hours, if not days, when you first put them on post-shrinkage. You can always stretch jeans out, so you will probaly hear "just size down." What's your build? If you are a thin-legged person (I assume you aren't too thin-legged at 35'', unless you are like 7 feet tall), you would probably be inclined to size down so that the rest of the jean (thigh, etc) will be as slim as possible. But...I have always regretted not just sizing up some. I say go with 36.
