Can someone suggest a dry denim that would be slimmer through the leg than a APC NS? I'd consider NC, but was thinking of branching out a bit.

When I sized down 2 sizes, the NS fit pretty well. I'm now just looking for a slimmer fit for a second pair.

    Thanks,
    Brian

I know you guys probably hate this question, but I absolutely love the fit of my RRDS. It's perfect on me. The biggest factor for me is how they fit in the thighs--I don't have thick thighs, but I'd look pretty ridiculous in slimmer jeans like Dior 19 cm. So I'm somewhere in between. Also, I'm 6'2 with a fairly short torso, if that helps.

So the past three pair of jeans I've tried out have not worked. I tried 31 Samurai 0500XX, and the high rise ends up looking pretty stupid. I don't think repro-looking jeans are for me. Then I tried 30 APC Rescues, and they're too baggy after some stretching. Right now I'm wearing 30 APC New Standards, but I'm not sure what I think of the taper and the thighs are still pretty slim. I know they do stretch though, so I'm giving them time.

Anyone want to give any input? Should I stick with the APC NS for a bit (I've only worn them for a day or two), or are there any other jeans I should try?

Wear the NS for a couple more weeks and the thighs will be fine. Give your eyes a chance to adapt to the taper. Report your findings after the two weeks, and I'm sure guys will have suggestions for you then if you're still unhappy [IMG]

about to soak my first pair of raw denim and looking for a little guidance:

should i just throw em in the tub, fill it up with hot water, throw a little detergent and let it soak in there for a bit? i wouldn't mind them shrinking a bit (academi relaxed fit). also, should i just let em dry in the sun after? thanks, mainly looking to see how long i should leave them soaking and if there's anything i'm missing here.

You shouldn't be soaking them. Period. They will not shrink.

i figured as much--i kind of wanted to get rid of the stiffness a little bit and lose some of that indigo. will soaking do that? or is the washing machine a better bet?

If you're only trying to get rid of the starch and some indigo then by all means throw them in a tub of water for a bit. They'll still start off as stiff but will turn softer faster than a no-soak.

    No washing machines.
