No Dior Homme boutiques near me... but thoughts on their jeans? Maybe how they compare to Saint Laurent denim? (Only similar ones I own)

It was suggested that I post my query here.

I am still new in the world of SW&D, but over the past half year or so I've wound up with 2 pairs of good raws, unfortunately neither were new. I have right now a pair of LVC 1944's that have been washed twice I believe, and a pair of 1922/33 styled LVCs that I just picked up that have been well loved, and have some cool fades. For a while now I've been trying to figure out which jeans to pick up new. I am not opposed to looking elsewhere if anyone has any suggestions. As stated before, Im not exactly the most versed in the pros and cons of the different companies, and right now 200$ is definitely the top of the mark, though I'd prefer to stay under 150 if I can.

    Currently looking at:

    N&F Okayama Spirit @ 190
    N&F Rainbow core @ 150
Raleigh Original Raw Selvedge @ 90
Nudie Raws (non selvedge) @ 70
    Gustin Heavy American @ 90
Jean shop Raw Indigo @ 120
    NSF @ 110
    Nudie Raw Selvege @ 90

I would pick up the Okayama Spirits, from all the jeans you've listed. I would look into Japan Blue too, if I were you.

No. APCs are vanity sized. Go back to jeans 101

Vanity sizing has absolutely nothing to do with the fact if a cut is appropriate for someone or not.
I suggest you leave jeans 101 for what it is, because you don't get it either.

    +1

It would be like me hypothetically buying a size 22" (!) in a vanity sized jean of the wrong shape

Don't go there - you'll live to regret it!

    Join the club!

My custom 21oz Kurabo jeans needed a wash and are now so tight I can barely get them on

They're very uncomfortable and so much smaller than my other jeans - wish I'd never washed them again - reckon I'd have to weigh about 70 pounds for these to fit!!

I'll try again but I think I won't ever stretch them out again..

    Luckily I've got other jeans!!!

Most waistbands are vanity sized because of a lower rise, essentially making the jeans sit more on your hip, rather then around the natural waist. While this is not always the case, it's absolutely ridiculous to size down on a cut if the cut isn't suited for your body in the first place. This is what makes "big athletic guys" turn into sausages stuffed in a cotton "can", so to speak.
Just pick a fit that is complimentary to your physique and size accordingly.

I've been attributing it to something else. What a relief to think it may just be my jeans!

It depends. How much does your life revolve on the absolute precision of the fades on your jeans? If they fit you comfortably and the cut looks OK on you, I'd venture to say not all that fucked.

I'm hoping someone can help me identify the brand of jeans in this picture.

I think they're Levi's because of the back pocket design, but the brown tag on the back of the jeans seems to be missing or
completely covered by the shirt. Maybe it was taken off for legal reasons, I don't know. I found a pair that may be the jeans in the
photo but they seem a tad bit darker.

    http://us.levi.com/product/index.jsp?productId=33774466&page=2&fbn=Category|Men&fbc=1&kwCatId=&kw=grey +jeans&origkw=grey+jeans&sr=1&f=PAD/Category/Men&lmdn=Category&fbn=33774466|28W|null

If someone could point me in the direction of a site that offers jeans with a slim fit and the exact same light grey color like in the
    photo, that would be great!

Also! I'm 29 1/4" in the waist, if I encounter a site that only offers jean sizes 27"-29" and 30"-32", which should I choose? I own a
few pairs of 30-32's and they're a little too big in the waist and I'm afraid 27"-29" may be too small.

Btw, this seems like a really cool site!

I bought those yesterday at the Levi's store but not the 511. I bought the 522 instead which is a mid rise and sits on the waist and smaller leg opening/tapered than 511.

    Here's a pic http://www.levi.com/IE/en_GB/men-jeans/p/168820004

Just bought some Samuari s0500xx 15 oz Texas cotton jeans from BIG. I wear a 34 in most pants. I tried on a 36 in the store and they fit well (buttonable but snug). So the salesman told me to go with a 34. I just finished a hot soak and warm machine wash and they are still pretty loose. Any chance they have not shrunk all the way? Or Should I just bite the bullet and sell them on the forums or Ebay at a loss?

Ugh ^ Did not realize they had a regular fit in this model as well. I thought I bought tapered version. Expensive mistake ouch!

Just saw your post...thanks Hirsh! The wash I bought is Express. It's a light to mid gray wash. The other gray 511 I returned them back.

Bought 3 more jeans from Levi's store (40% off!) including one that is a Premium Goods Raw Selvedge. All 522 which is my favorite fit now.

I think my collection is around 48? Not sure I have to count lol

    Express jeans sound lovely!

Why did you return the 511-wrong cut?

3 new jeans on sale is great!!!!!!!!(especially Selvedge pair)

    48 pairs - I'm dying of jealousy

Especially as ghastly Hotpants will probably arrive today..:)

The 522 has a tapered leg, a mid rise and a much smaller leg opening than 511. So I'm in love with the new fit! :D

Yes! Along with a trucker jacket. :D

Looking forward to seeing pics of you in the hotpants!
