Sent a birthday present to my sister in the UK. UPS somehow decided it was OK to just give it to a neighbor who lost it. Why the hell does UPS think it's OK to hand over my packages to anyone other than the recipient? I never left any instructions allowing them to give it to a neighbor. Is there any recourse here? I'm truly pissed at UPS right now for being so irresponsible - they should have held it at the depot for pickup if no one was home.

Cost cutting measures are behind these rules...

The delivery firms used to ask me to accept/sign for packages from 2 or 3 houses away.

The person who collected it is responsible because she/he mus have signed the collection electronic form.

Weird...

UPS and Fedex use to do that to my packages. They would leave it with my neighbor. Now they just have that slip saying they tried but no one was home or just leave it on my porch.

I have never received any of my neighbor packages either.

What they did is completely common. Depending on the area, they will leave a package with a neighbor, leave the package at your door (or somewhere) or they may leave a slip. I doubt there's any recourse except with your neighbor.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
