Hey guys. More than a month ago or so, I said that I'd post my Vertu once I'd get it. Well, I got the phone about 3 weeks ago from London. Sorry I didn't post it earlier. I was on my Christmas vacation, and totally forgot.

Anyway, here it is. I also have the Signature version. The new one is pretty cool though. It's more hip and casual. The other one is more classy.

Here are some pics:

Yeah its a subsidiary company, and I dont get it either. As far as I can tell it is a Nokia with a really heavy (and possibly well made) cover. Review from someone who forked out 6000 Euro on one is really not all that great... I just cant get past the feeling that if I bought an expensive phone, Id lose it in a taxi within a week

Curious about the concierge service. Would it be able to direct me to places I can purchase Explorateur cheese and Lillet blanc in any civilized city in the world? That would be mighty handy!

6000 Euros?! For that price, I could get on Koji Suzuki's shortlist and have two pairs of shoes made and still have change for a coffee.

A great use of petrodollars. I'm reminded of the scene in Syriana when Matt Damon and the smart prince talk in the dunes.

First of all...
We don't have dunes. We don't live in the desert. Get your facts straight. I'm sick of people generalizing that arabs live in deserts. Kuwait is a VERY VERY modern country.

BTW, we don't import oil to the US... So I guess it's not "PetrolDollars!"

Nice try though.

Also, it's really sad that you think that Kuwait or other gulf countries look like they do in Syriana.

My reference was to the conversation between the two characters. They could just as easily have been conversing at a hotel in Europe. You either didn't understand the underlying meaning of the reference or else decided to ignore it. Either way, your defensiveness is amusing.

Btw I think you mean "export." Or was that a slip of the tongue, and you're confused about what country you're actually in?

The point is that you were responding not to my post but to some argument or characterization that you must heard from someone else. Hence my word choice of "defensiveness."

Thank you though for "correcting" the erroneous "facts" that I apparently adduced in my initial post.

I hope you have a nice day, as well.

Please be assured that your posts on this forum have, if anything, only increased my respect for your country's modernity and topographic diversity.
