For high school I was homeschooled and never had much contact with the opposite sex. My parents didn't believe that it would be a good idea if I had a girlfriend before I turned 18 and that led to them stopping me from talking to girls and interacting with them much.

Then when I did turn 18 and went away for college I had all these limiting beliefs in my head due to my inexperience. Lost my virginity at 19 (finally) and had about 2 more lays after that but other than that I didn't have much luck with women. The college I went to and graduated from (about 3 years ago) had a "party school" reputation and was even ranked as a top 10 party school by Playboy.

Observing some interactions I noticed that it was mostly athletes and guys in well known fraternities that were out with girls or having a lot of girls in their lives. The other guys were either in relationships or really busy with their academics to even care about girls that much.

I was also pretty aggressive in college, often talking to girls and approaching them and not being shy about asking them out on a date. In the looks range I didn't have the muscular body but my body was fairly average looking and I am about 6"3, people told me I was handsome a few times back in college.

But still I wasn't experiencing the wild hook up culture people talk so much about when it comes to American college campuses

Then I graduated (engineering major) and got a job and in the past 3 years I have been with around 15 different women for casual sex and been in long term relationships with 2. The quality has definitely gone up as well. Back in college I could not imagine dating a girl that was attractive enough to turn heads but I have dated 2 girls like that ever since.

Even though I am a little more muscular now than I was in college, personality wise I am still the same me. I am still outgoing and still not shy when it comes to talking to women. Pretty much do the same thing now than I did back when I was in college.

The reason I posted this thread is not to brag but to know why I wasn't able to get with any of the hot girls back at my college campus yet I have managed to do so after college.

Not an expert. Women's standards and morals loosen up a bit after they've banged a few guys. I think it's also easier for males to blur the lines of their social value as compared to college.

Then why is college hyped up to be this ultimate fuckfest?

When I was entering college I always heard about how it will never be easier than college or how college girls are so wild but despite going to a party school with a lot of hot girls it didn't seem to be the case at all. I am still somewhat confused and even a little bitter than when I was in a location where I would see at least 10 hot girls daily, I could not have much success. Now in a location were hot girls are not as commonly found I have had much more success. Back in my college days I had some depressing moments due to not having much success with the opposite sex and most of it was fueled by the belief that college is supposed to be easy for guys.

I guess another thing is that girls at the age are obsessed with their status. They don't care about the sex or the relationship, the want the guy that is approved by their social circle. At most party schools, the hottest girls are usually in a sorority so that means GDIs don't have a shot unless they are athletes.

What gets me is that I didn't change that much from college except become a little muscular but it was night and day.

People always told me the pretty ones are taken after college, has not been my experience at all.

I was more inclined to do well with math and science while growing up so engineering was not that tough of a major for me. Worst part of college for me was writing papers for an English class and doing all the citations. The freetime for me to pursue girls was still there but the results never really came while now they do.

I went to a law school which is now owned by Kid Toucher U so there was a lot of deviant sex going on. But I never dug the uptight law school girls, and did much better with the dirty white trash townies and strippers that thought they could trick me into getting them pregnant so they'd have a free meal ticket. Thankfully I always wrapped my rascal.

Not if you live in the big cities. I love foreign women (especially European) and big city girls, they don't have the whole "if I don't get married in my early 20s I am screwed" mentality.

Seems like if you don't vibe well with the culture of your college, you are going to have a rough time. I have a couple of friends that went to UCSB, beach boys growing up, who had a great time and ended up getting a lot of girls despite not being in a fraternity themselves. They claim that the Greek Life scene was not that big at their university and tons of "GDIs" who were good looking or outgoing with game (or all 3) ended up having a great time. If you put in the effort, you got laid. Wasn't the case at my school since the Greek Scene was huge and most of the hot girls were found at frat parties and not some regular house parties.

I didn't care because I approached girls during the day and at coffee shops. Got a lot of numbers, even a few dates, but not many lays.

These days I get approached more.

Still don't know wtf just happened. I should have been getting laid a lot in college and hardly getting laid at all after it according to what everyone I was around told me back then. Guess being an outlier has its own perks.
