A sprinkling of powder in the shoe works as well for going sockless.

That men's magazine layout look of business suit and no socks became numbingly tedious. I hope the phase has passed.

Hot summer day, linen trousers and driving mocs with no socks looks fine to me.

The only truly great one is made by Falke (Invisible Socks), IMHO. All the others show to one degree or another.

I don't understand the problem. With a suit in a business setting, no. But in a casual outfit on a not cold day it's a matter of personal preference. Good leather shoes breathe well and I find it quite comfortable.

I cannot stand those mini socks. Either full OTC or bareback, fellas. Like Doc said - if you catch a peek, instant lame.

I go almost everyday without socks in loafers and driving shoes. If I'm wearing lace ups or dress shoes, then I'll put socks on. It's a lot easier to not wear socks and makes it less formal.

Isn't the sockless look supposed to evoke the beach or boating? Sand and water and socks don't mix.

Which is why mini-sox (fake) and sockless laceups (why are you wearing wingtips to the beach?) seem wrong to me.

    Socks:
I do not like them in a loafer.
I do not like them with a buck.
I do not like them as a golfer.
I do not like them when I fuck
I do not like them here or there.
I do not like them anywhere.
I do not like them, Trad I am.

Can you say fuck on Style Forum?

I tried the sockless loafer look for the first time this summer using these navy driving shoes from Herring Shoes. [IMG] My wife absolutely loved it. Something about me flashing my ankles really did it for her [IMG] I really enjoyed it too. It's perfect for summer when you want to keep cool and casual...but don't want to venture into sandal & T-shirt territory.

This has been discussed. I think it looks feminine but I did a poll here and no one esle agreed with me. However, I was looking through a fashion book on the preppy look from the 60's and there wee several examples of men in shorts with leather loafers without socks.

A sprinkling of powder (Or gun powder if your name is DocHolliday) in the shoes works as well for going sockless.
FTFY JayJay. ^ Personally, the only shoes I would ever wear sockless are sandals or deck shoes, and only if the deck shoes have a removable footbed that I can wash. I would never wear any loafer or dress shoe sockless for hygenic reasons. Asthetically, sockless looks sloppy and unhygenic. It won't make a good impression in the business world. Weekends and vacation time only, if you must.

throw some baking soda/baby powder mix into your shoe before you use it and you'll be free of any funky smells
