Yes, you do not know what you are talking about, should not come here bragging and telling everyone how big you are and making your CEO think that your views are more correct than his.

Your choice of language on what is a family rated Board also sum you up.

From flip flops and shorts to tailored clothing overnight? Sounds like something's up.

Sometimes they're acceptable if they have some sort of texture or detail; I have a pair of black trousers which are some sort of thin-wale cord and I wear them occasionally. Plain black wool (or, heaven forbid, polyester) odd trousers are never a good choice though. Even less so than a black suit.

I like your humor and i totally agree with you as well. A wardrobe of grey slacks and blue blazers will make you look like a security guard.

-I reccomended that he buy a charcoal suit first. He doesn' have a charcoal suit btw. He has 2 black ones so far.

-I recommended that he buy a navy suit next. He doesn't have one of these either.

-I recommended that he add a grey, glenplaid or a blue pinstripe or a grey pinstripe suit next based on his preference.

-I recommended that he buy a blue blazer but maybe get one that is well cut with patch pockets and mother of pearl buttons instead of a boxy blazer with gold buttons.

-I recommended that he buy a couple of odd jackets in brown patterns or brown and black patterns for even more versatility.

I gave some other advice as well but I have to run to a meeting and cannot type it all out now.

I hope everybody has a good productive, lucrative Friday.

Do you talk to people in normal, everyday life this way? Or does the internet make it okay because the readers aren't real people?

I was going to say something equally rude to you. Then I decided that I would not piss on you, even if you were on fire. Is there anything else that I can help you with sir?

If your boss is a well groomed, symmetric faced, tall, younger man in his late 20s or 30s, he could get away with pretty much anything - even donning the occasional black suit for work... somewhat like what this guy does in the picture:

Its fascinating to note from the above exchanges that advices about what not to wear (such as the black suits, blue pants, etc) see their rationales originate mainly from the visual resemblances to people of certain professions, such as that of funeral workers, security guards, and chauffeurs. Is the fear of "looking like them" so strong that it triumphed all elements of quality found in these articles of clothing?

And lets not kid ourselves - a dashing young man in a well tailored black suit, no matter how sartorially "criminal" it is, will elicit admirable sighs from the fair sex, and enviable grumbles from older, balding men in navy plaid jackets and Prince of Wales check pants. Sure, you could get people like :foo: to write write paragraphs about how "wrong" it is to wear black suits, but does honey badger give a shit? Likely not.

I am friends with the CEO. I have worked with him over 11 years. We live in the same neighborhood. We have been on vacations together. I guess you could say that I am in the inner circle of the company. We usually pull no punches when speaking to each other.
