I work from home and have no appointments, commitments, errands, etc today. Getting dressed, I found an old pair of (pre SF / pre-raw denim) Levis hanging about. These things are faded to hell, have a big tear in the knee, and the back pockets are worn out.

I prob wore them fairly regularly for a good 4 years before retiring them, including a stint where they were beaten up pretty badly in the park, doing household stuff, etc...

I'm actually pleasantly surprised as they fit well, are much more comfortable than my raw denim, and when it boils down to it, have held up pretty freaking well for what I probably paid for them

Not trying to change on the SF raw front, just felt like sharing

Point of your thread: Don't throw anything out. I love Levi jeans and i've kept them. All my LVC are selvedge and stf. and they are comfortable. I also love the feel of old beat up boots that I've owned for years.

What's interesting is that "new" clothes are trying to emulate the look and feel and age of "old" clothes. So-called "destroyed" jeans and "pre-distressed" shoes and boots. It's pretty hilarious.

Wow pre-raw? So they were made before 1880?

I'm pretty sure you're being sarcastic, but I think he means pre-raw revival. What's the point of this post since I know you're most likely being sarcastic? I guess it has no point, which brings me back to my original point.

I love my ratty old Levi's and other beat up jeans. I usually go for crisp jeans with more polished shirts/sweaters, but lately I've kinda been mixing my beat up denim with nicer stuff like cashmere v-neck and dress boots. The lighter (broken in) jeans feel kinda like Spring to me. Less heavy.

I meant my pre my interest in raw denim.

I still ended up changing them before going out last night.

I wonder if that will catch on in the fashion world.
