When I was about halfway through law school my bank sent me a pre-approved visa with a credit limit of $5,000. This is despite me having near zero income. I thought, that's nice! Within about a year it was more or less maxed out. I was getting by making the minimum monthly payment, and that was when the raised the credit limit to $8,000. It was then I realized something extremely fishy was going on, so I shoved it in a drawer someplace and started paying off the balance. I recently graduated so I'm hoping I can pay off the rest of what I owe ASAP. Well, not maybe that fast, there are still a couple of things on the BS forum that I have my eye on...

Looking back I think I'm thankful I learned the bad-credit lesson early on. It's scary to think the amount of credit I might be able to get a year or two down the road, and then I might be in some deep ****.

Stazy, you're in college. You're supposed to be broke eating ramen and mac cheese. Just don't go in the hole several k with a CC.

Piobaire, as a grad student living off a **** stipend, I'll take a check for the difference between my income and credit limit too. Without going into specifics, I'll settle for 10k

I think I have about a $30k creditline right now and I'm an unemployed student. Credit doesn't really have much to do with income, really, how would they know your income anyway? It's about building balances and paying them off, and I've done a lot of that.

If you have a monthly income you pratcially cant be broke...this comes from someone who has never had a regular income in his life. And now: relax, all will be good...

Fear not concerned style forum members, a new month means more money is on its way so I'll be okay.

That being said, I'll provide my paypal account for anyone wishing to make a donation...

I tend to spend wisely nowadays. I use to be a big spender plus going to casinos a few times a week. That got me into some ****, my friends got themselves into deep ****. We were zero income students and we managed to rack up +10k in gambling debt. Since then we matured and stopped gambling, only play some house poker once in a while. I also noticed I spend quiet a bit more when I have a gf, well at least the sex is good.
