Just commissioned my first Husbands suit after meeting Isaac from the team today: 11cm notch lapels, flap pockets, straight leg in a dark green-ish linen. waiting time of five months or so

was tempted to go for the flared leg but we thought the linen might not suit it. really excited to see how it comes along. just wanted to ask, i've seen some (obviously) great fit pics here, but what type of shoes would most of you pair with their tailoring in the summer (ie other than boots)? im thinking less round toes/chunky shoes and something like a sleek loafer? I've looked at the loafer Husbands offers but I'm not 100% sure if it would fit with most of my wardrobe

5 months? A little surprising given that some of the experiences with the new factory have been closer to 6-8 weeks I believe.

Very disconcerting that Husbands no longer has a presence on SSENSE. After losing Matches and before that Mr. Porter, that basically leaves only the Asian stores which never seem to carry the larger sizes for jackets.

Would anyone happen to know the fabric that they used for the 06 Collection in this Blue Green linen? I managed to come across a sample jacket from a very good friend of mine, but I have nothing denoting the material, except for a tag that shows this is the 'Jagger' model. It's a very heavy linen, feels almost like a wool jacket, would love to get some garments made in it.

Seems to be the same as this one

They've used Spence Bryson linen in the past but I'm sure they would tell you exactly what it was if you DM or email them. I've done that before for matching MTO stuff.

yup I was told it'd be delivered in Feb. maybe its a longer process for first time customers but hopefully it'll be ready before that

in terms of shoes, im leaning towards the classic gucci loafer or maybe something from belgian loafers/morjas/edward green (in terms of toe shape), but happy to hear other's thoughts!

Here some shoe styles and colours that could go well with your suit, I think.

All by Aubercy.

By the way, I love the colour you have chosen. Not long ago I posted a picture in the cloth thread of a jacket made up in that fabric by Taillour.

thank you! didn't think about Aubercy but the silhouettes fit the aesthetic. Oh wow is that actually the same cloth? Here I thought I was being original but I might have subconsciously taken the idea from here

I was wondering about Aubercy. Are their models rebranded Enzo Bonafe, or do they have exclusive lasts?

Allen Edmonds Randolph loafers; bit or non bit or I wear a derby shoe with my suiting, if not Chelsea boots.

Got the new brown leather sidezips in early, very pleased with them. For whatever reason this shade of brown in a slim silhouette with a round toe is hard to come by from other comparable brands. They have a new metal YKK zipper that's quite smooth out of the box - I bought the grey leather ones a year ago and those zippers were borderline broken, so this is a major improvement. Retail is $806.

Also a couple side-by-side comparison shots of their black leather sidezips and some old Hedi Slimane era Saint Laurent Wyatt 40 sidezips for anyone curious. They're different in pretty much every regard (lasts, types of leather, zippers etc.) but are stylistically interchangeable. New or very lightly worn Saint Laurents are easy to find on grailed so can you maybe save some money there if you don't care about those minute differences.

On an unrelated note, SSENSE has delisted all of the Husbands stuff they had on sale and removed them from the list of brands on the sidebar. Would be really unfortunate if they no longer carry the brand but it honestly wouldn't surprise me.

Would it be closer to Celine, Jacno/Carmarague/Drugstore all feel pointier than SLP equivalent

Not Jacnos, I've had a pair of those and they were very pointy. Probably more similar to Camargues.

Does anyone know where Husbands makes their MTO/MTM now? I've heard Portgual, but I am curious as to which factoury they use.

RTW is made in Italy, MTM/MTO used to be in Italy too but is now made in Portugal. I don’t know where exactly unfortunately but I’m very curious if anyone could speak for the quality of the MTM/MTO nowadays.

Made in Portugal definitely sounds cheaper than made in Italy, especially for a suit. Although it doesn’t mean much as there are good factories in Italy as well as bad ones.
