Hello I am interested in getting a suit MTO from Husbands. I have seen some discussion here about long timelines but that is fine. Those who have experience, could you please share it? What was the end product like, how much should I expect to pay, will I get away with speaking English, etc.? Thank you!

price you just have to ask them, I remember MTO and RTW delta being very reasonable, yes you can use English (at least conversation online)

Just received my second commission from Husbands and am in the middle of putting in an order for a third.

I live in the US but did my first commission in their Rive Droite shop in Paris. The experience was great, I got measured, tried on their stock models, and had the fit pinned and tweaked for my broad but short size. Picked out fabrics and details like you would any MTO operation. My configuration was something like 1550EUR and then i was able to get the VAT back so it ended up being something like ~1380EUR if memory serves correctly. I speak no French and the associate I worked with (Igor) spoke little English but we made it work just fine. It arrived in right around 3 months and I was incredibly happy with the fit of the jacket, which is where I was most concerned. The trousers arrived unfinished so needed hemming and a slight taper (+ adding on braces buttons) but other than that the trousers were great as well.

The second commission I also made in Paris. I wore my first suit so they could take a look and make any tweaks. Only sight tweak on the jacket was to the sleeve length. As for the trousers, I mentioned that I had some trouble keeping them at their intended height (they are high waisted and are supposed to sit just below / at the navel). The associate's recommendation was to go a size larger so they would drape better with braces, but I failed to mention that I had tightened the side a adjusters all the way. As a result, the trousers that I received are about a size too large so I will likely need to get them taken in the waist, seat, and upper thigh. Speaking of receiving them, they took significantly longer, arriving a week shy of a full year from my fitting. This was a bit frustrating and while the MTO associate (who I believe sits in London?) was very responsive he was also not super helpful as it sounds like their manufacturing partner (who they've since switched from) gave them almost no transparency into the process. At any rate, once I received the suit it was great (and the tossed in a nice bonus or two along the way to compensate for the long delay). I'm taking the trousers to my local tailor next week. Price was 1590EUR (minus VAT) with 1000 paid as the deposit.

For my third, I'm likely doing this all via email as I've done two suits and they fit well so am comfortable just going with my last order fit. I have been assured that they will arrive in the 8-10 week timeframe "with certitude." This time I'm ordering just a sportcoat entirely from the US, so being charged the US price (incl. of customs charges) and getting no VAT back sadly. Price quoted is $1590.

Happy to answer any additional questions about my experience. Despite all of the chaos with the last order, I'm optimistic (perhaps naively) that they've fixed a lot of their issues. Big fan of the cut and style so I'm excited to go back to the well.

Thank you very much for this write-up. Looks like I will definitely pay them a visit when I can do so later this year.
