Tshirts originated as little as I know as undershirt. Undershirts can be comfortable and provide warmth for persons who are very sensitive to cold. Smedley Sea Island collarless shirts easily rip at seam joints, if Huntsman offers Tshirts, I would like to know its specifications. If Huntsman would offer Tshirts, I suspect those desiring Huntsmann logo might not get such. Since Huntsmann refers to Budd, undershirt promotion unlikely, and I doubt either new owner nor new designer wear any. But instead of aquisition as mere economic transaction, rather enthusiastic "existential" responsibility is surely a healthier attitude than what took over Hunter Thompson's mind in a drug damaged body.

That is the best analogy EVER. And entirely apropos.

Peter Smith is a lovely man and based on my reading Mr Anderson's book, it seems he has made an excellent career choice.

And now Patrick Murphy is to leave it surely is a sinking ship! So sad!

^ yes, tremendously detrimental to huntsman bespoke. As a customer in the US, it's hard for me to imagine paying Huntsman prices right now when I have no idea if the person cutting my suit will be worth the money. I'm also not particulalry in love with the style of Pat's new shop. I think this might be the end of Savile row for me. A sad development as so much of what I have from huntsman is really great.

I know for certain Pat will always maintain a high standard of his style wherever he works rest assured as for Huntsman the owners seem to want a 'fashion' house so yes the bespoke will suffer as it has since they took over! It beggars belief!

Who says he's leaving, and for where? He is finishing a suit for me at present.

That seems like a step down, but who knows the whole story. Ugh, so much job hopping on the row these days. Thanks for the tip.

Patrick came from Davies. He worked there for many years before he joined huntsman. I don't think he sees it as a step down. I think that the new owners of huntsman have been difficult on the old guard there. And so they are leaving one by one.

I agree and I believe he has made the right/best decision on the bespoke front!

^ no idea. In my business, if someone joins a competitor you spend a few hours trying to convince them they made a mistake and if it doesn't work you have security escort them out. But I suppose Savile row is likely more genteel.
