Can anyone point me in the direction of the most affordable and reliable e-tailer or otherwise, to order a pair of wellingtons?

Also, do they fit fairly true to size and are they completely unisex or is there a difference apart from sizing between the men's and women's range?

I'm looking for the tall navy originals with the adjustable calf...

Thanks!

I had to get a new pair of wellies this winter to deal with the slush/snow, and Hunters were what were available in my local shop. I found I had to size down half a size compared to my average shoe size. This is true even when wearing a moderately thick pair of socks.

Can't help you with a US retailer or differences between the ladies and gents boots (the ladies seem a little slimmer through the calf to my eye IRL, but I may just be projecting). Hopefully someone else can answer those questions for you.

Thanks I'm a US 9 so I guess an 8 (UK) would hopefully work, since I'll have to order online. I want to get a head start on the mucky springs we have here in Montreal since I always end up killing at least one pair of shoes before the summer rolls around, and it's getting time to retire my winter boots for the season.

I'm a size 11US, and my Hunters are size US10, UK9... and if anything they're a little roomy, but not so much thick socks don't make them snug!

Wow, you went a full size down and still found them roomy?

So for a US 9 (9.5) ... you'd recommend a UK 7?

Thanks for saving me an expensive and frustrating return!

Based on my experience, I would say that a US size 9 should purchase a UK size 7 in Hunter boots, yes. But, obviously, this is just one datum point, although since I was advised to go two US sizes down with my purchase and was very happy with this I think it's sound!

Note, though, that Hunter boots can be made in China as well as Scotland, so I'd check to see which version you're getting!

I hope this helps!
