Hugo Boss Suits - Made in Turkey, but solid value at 50% off?

Hi all,

Question regarding Hugo Boss suits. Like most people, been a big fan of Suitsupply as they are at the sweetspot of price/value/ease of try-before-buy.

I recently came across a Hugo Boss suit, made in Turkey, retails for $795. Yes - ridiculous at that price. But I can get it at $400. I tried it on and it fit well, (will be better with some tailoring).

My question, hoping to raise some discussion, is generally how are the quality of Hugo Boss, made in Turkey suits? Half-canvased? Good value at $400 in your opinion, or stick with Suitsupply?

The suit in question is: https://www.hugoboss.com/us/virgin-...lar-fit-johnstons/lenon/hbna50300754_401.html

Thanks all

Fused. Their ‘Tailored’ line is half canvassed.

Only suit I’ve ever actually seen fusing come apart on (the “bubbling” you read about) was Boss.

I used to wear Hugo Boss and aside from that 'Tailored' line they are fused. Stay away from them.

Pretty ridiculous that a suit that retails for $795 is fused. Has anyone (on a large scale) alled out/criticized HB for this?

It's a fashion brand. It's pretty common. Most people don't know what canvassing/fusing is on a suit.

Can anyone comment on the longevity between a fused and half canvas?

depends on the fusing material, and how often you gonna put it through the dry cleaners,
got a suit way back gone through 3-4 times to the dry cleaners and it started bubbling right after, should just avoid fused suits imo. and the durability of the fabrics plays a huge role as well. oh and HB suits are way overrated anyways stop spending that kind of money for the brand name, plenty of other great products made by less known brands. Hope this helps
