Hello,
I went to Harry Rosen today and I was checking out some stuff.

-Hugu Boss Dress shirts: Is it true that if behind the button it is white, that means they are plastic? If so, all of them were like that. These shirts were going for $195.

-Hugo Boss suits: I was trying to feel a 3rd layer, but couldn't. So they are fused?

Thanks

That's not always true with MOP buttons. Surest way to tell is to feel the button with the underside of your wrist, your lip, or somewhere else sensitive to temp- a MOP button will feel cold, plastic will not. Also, if you tap MOP against a tooth, it will make a distinctive sound.

Hugo Boss label suits are fused.

But why would the under side be solid white? I mean what is the use of that?

Thanks

Yes, generally. If you mean that the plastic has this somewhat translucent look on top and a thin layer of white on the bottom. Those are plastic buttons. The MOP buttons I've seen are generally consistent from top to bottom, except for like occasional brown specks occurring naturally in the mollusk that it was made from. Typically the brown imperfections are from slightly cheaper MOP buttons.

Hugo Boss suits are not worth retail. A fair price is under $300

You will never see hugo boss suits for such a price in Canada. Cheapest one's I've ever seen were $450 on a blowout clearance sale. Typically at Harry Rosen they can go as low as $600-$700 on sale.

Hugo Boss shirts do not use MOP buttons.
